Loxjie A30 Amplifier Review

I use it that way.
Iphone 13 -> Lighting to USB OTG adapter -> USB cable -> Loxjie A30.
Works OK.
Hmm, strange. I’m using almost the same phone (13 mini) in same configuration without success. The USB output works fine connected this way to other DACs, just not the Loxjie.

I'm getting intermittent audio cut outs with my Loxjie A30 when using the optical input from my PC, which doesn't happen when I use USB or AUX. I've tried changing cable, and when I use optical from my PC to a DAC there are no issues. Interestingly, the A30 optical input worked fine when I tried a different source other than my PC. Anyone know what could be going on or had similar issues with the optical input?
I have had similar issues with my Loxjie A30 (purchased in March this year). The amp was connected to a TV via optical and to a CD player via coax. I never used USB or AUX. I tried BT once but this input had the worst rate of cutouts. Both TV and CD player including their respective cables were/are working fine in a different setup.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what the reason for the cutouts might be. In another forum, someone suggested that the A30 could be more intolerant to jitter than other amps.

I have since bought a Topping MX3s and recently returned the A30. I found the sound quality of my modest setup (Marantz CD5000 (coax), 2x Wharfedale Diamond 220) a lot more enjoyable with the MX3s than with the A30. I also find the MX3s easier to use and much prefer the volume/gain setting being shown in large numbers on the display as opposed to the input source.

I am currently trying to connect the Wiim mini optical input (24-192) to the Topping E30 optical input, from the Topping to the analog Loxjie 30 connected to the Elac DBR62 and the sound is excellent compared to the internal dac that the Wii has, substantially cleaned and boosted, the bass is strong (perhaps slightly boosted), sound goes to the Wii from the Wii app for Android and Tidal hifi

Sounds unlikely.

(I'm assuming by the way, you are connecting the Wiim output (rather than its input) to the D30 input.)

Have you checked the level matching between the Wiim analogue output, and the E30 analogue output? If they are even 0.2% different, that can be perceived as a sound quality difference even when there is none.

yes, I connected the optical output, my English is bad, in any case the sound is better, I go in both cases bit perfect
(correction - only in the second case )

Just as an update, about four years later the little amp is working very well, no glitches, plays all day in an apartment in Switzerland, runs cool, costs next to nothing in electricity, and gives me pleasure when I listen to FM radio or my music from a tiny Hidizs AP80 Pro (FLAC files).

My son loves his too, and now has added a powered sub. 2 1/2 yrs since I gave it to him on Christmas.

Hi everyone, I have a Wiim Ultra on the way and my amplifier is a Loxjie A30, is there a way to bypass the Loxjie A30 DAC?
In theory the Wiim Ultra's DAC chip is superior and I would like the conversion to only be done once from the Wiim, the Wiim Ultra will work as a preamp.

You can, by using the analogue input of the A30. However, if you look at the review here, the performance of the analogue input is poor, with a high noise floor resulting an a Sinad of only around 70dB. So all the better performance of your Ultra DAC is lost

Therefore you will still get better performance using one of the digital inputs to the amp which then gives you a 12dB better SINAD at around 82.

OK - ignore all that. Amir repeated the analogue input test and got results as good as the digital input. So if you want to use the Ultra DAC you can by feeding the ultra analogue output into the Amp analogue input. However you don't get better performance than the digital input. You need to ensure the amp gain is set to high to get this performance, and then turn down the volume accordingly.

Personally I'd still use a digital connection.

How it is driving DBR62s? Is it ok? I am also planning to use my loxjie A30 with dbr62 currently using db52
Sorry for very late reply, drive them with easy. For nearfield listening is huge volume reserve. Never exceed ~40 level on volume which is crazy loud.

--------------
Have a question to Loxjie A30 users and SUB-OUT
I plan to add sub to my system Elac DBR62 speakers to have full range and very deep low bass, thinking about SVS SB-1000 Pro, or REL HT 1003.

But what connection will be best to connect Loxjie A30 with sub.
Loxjie A30 do not have crossover settings, and I have to set it on sub, but what connection cable will be best option 1xRCA - 1xRCA or (Y-cable) 1xRCA - 2xRCA to input on sub ?
What singnal Loxjie output on SB OUT ? full range stereo mixed from Left and Right channel ?

I have the same setup with e Elacs in white. 1 RCA not into the sub, work the level and X over at the sub. However, you can tell the Elacs could use at least double the power. I have it on desktop so it's no big issue, but they can really use 100w easy.

What value crossover you set on SB-1000 Pro for DBR-62 ? I have also DBR62 on desktop.

Sorry no I did I not notiff CD e your model sub, I have a different one that is way smaller. My setup called for what I can estimate of high 70s or so.

I'd start with 80 Hz and tweak from there. That's what I use on my SB-2000 and KEF Q150 in my desktop setup.

I just bought this one to use as a desktop amp with speakers next to my desktop.

I haven't mounted the speakers yet for my desktop, so for fun I tried it vs my old Yamaha AVR AMP. And it works way well enough with my floor standing speakers (Dali Zensor 7) and a sub too next to my TV. With AUX 3.5mm output from my PC to RCA the sound is lower vs using bluetooth, but i don't really need to go near enough max volume with either source so it dosn't matter that much. From AUX input i get low static noise from speakers at high volume (30+/60), but I don't need to go nearly at that high volume at normal use, with bluetooth the static noise comes at near max volume setting only, so not noticiable either way. I bought this as an slightly cosmetic damaged unit from Hifi-express for $136 and I'm quite happy with it.

But now I'm intriqued also to try couple of small class D-Amps and get a Center speaker for a 3.1 or 5.1 system. The old AVR is limiting the size of my center speaker so that's why I'd instead get a couple of smaller amps sized like this (the speaker needs to fit in a space below the TV, the old AVR is currently taking half the space). I'm thinking of mayble a couple of Aiyima 07 MAX from should work from my soundcard AUX 3.5mm outs to (L+R, Center + subwoofer). Maybe I should ask about this idea in another thread but if you know it won't work you can tell me :)

I have had mine since 2020. No complaints, it does great near field. However, I acquired a set of ELAC Debut Reference 6.2 and it has trouble with them. It sounds good again near and low volume but it does not have reserves. I guess these are hard to drive and makes sense the A30 can't keep up. I may move on or change the amp and move this one to a different location. I still like it we will see.

I got it since 2021, with a set of Focal Chora 806. No complains.
Now, I changed for a Wiim Amp for the Focals (along with a pair of SVS SB1000) and moved the Loxjie downstairs, to my office as desk amp, paired with Polks ES10 and a Kanto Sub8.
Does it job flawlessly, really enjoying the second system.
