These wireless speakers should rely on a platform agnostic web page. Easier than maintaining an app for multiple OS's, and presumably easier to roll out (and roll back) enhancements.
Totally agree. I do have a networked integrated amp that I like a lot... *but* the entire feature set is *not* available via the minimalist device web page. Stuff like sub crossover frequency and several other things can't be set - you have to use the -now no longer maintained- app, which at some point in time will no longer work a few android versions down the road. Also, direct support for streaming services -which were originally there- no longer work.
I am not saying the same will happen to the LS50W/LS60, just sharing that that's a concern I now have with those devices. I'd rather have a separate intelligent frontend DAC/Streamer. Ideally not very expensive, so I can toss it away whenever too much functionality stops being supported in a straight-forward way.
