Kali LP-6/LP-8 V2 (2nd Wave) studio monitors released

Hey ... Need some help deciding between LP6v2 and LP8v2...

1. Which speaker provides the best (and more balanced) SQ in the bass, midrange, and high frequencies?
2. I see the FR response curves from Erin's review and the LP8 is messier in the midrange than the LP6, so is the LP6 better in this regard?
3. How is the low end of the LP6v2 compared to the LP8v2? Are both speakers identical audibly or does the 2Hz difference in F3 make an audible difference?

Thanks!
If u wanna go 8 inch why not go for IN-8 v2? i would do so

Simple ...cost! Being a college student places limits on disposable income. $500 vs $800 a pair. Hopefully, you are able to relate to and understand my predicament.

Estimated in room responses from both in the same graph, if it helps.

Need help on how to properly connect my DAC outputs (soon to be EX5/Topping A30 Pro stack on its way), my Kall LP6v2 monitors, and my single Monolith subwoofer, both bought after Erin's reviews. The LP-8v2 turned out to be too big to fit on my desk, unfortunately.

My Topping A30Pro DAC has 1 pair of XLR outs and 1 pair of RCA outputs. My monolith subwoofer is shown below.

The Kali's inputs are shown below with 1 RCA, 1 TRS, and 1 XLR input. How do I connect the stack, monitors, and subwoofer together for a seamless and reliable operation? Is stack RCA outs to sub RCA inputs and stack XLR outs to both Kali monitors the best way?

Don’t know your DAC but my RME adi-2 DAC is similar. I used the xlr outs for my monitors and the rca’s to the sub. Seems to work fine, but the phase on the sub was out ~180deg, idk why. Once I corrected that, it sounds super!

Edit: I don’t see xlr outs on your dac…sorry not much help.

Thanks, Rob ... The A30 Pro has RCA outs and TRS outputs which are balanced connections used in the pro-audio industry. TRS-XLR adapters are cheap and plentiful so conversion from TRS to XLE is not a problem. So you say, the TRS-XLRs go to the monitor inputs and L/R RCAs go to the sub inputs. But how do you handle the crossover frequency settings for the monitors, since they get the full-range audio signal but the subs can be low pass filtered via its crossover settings knob?

I’m just running my monitors full range (1032A’s). The subs low pass is set to the F3 of the monitors (40hz). I’m really just using the sub to fill in the deep bass. There are dip switches on the monitors to adjust bass roll off up to -8db for sub integration, I tried that but actually prefer the sound of them running full range…idk, works in my case anyway.

Not so positive

Similar to what they did with the Adam monitors… so I’m not so sure why this would be any more significantly different. The only minor gripe or difference it would seem is that they did not subjectively like the tweeter. Other than that the review is devoid of actual measurements and a deeper analysis of speaker directivity performance, for instance, which I presume is well outside their comfort zone given the main monitors they use.

Cost ultimately dictates how much Kali or Adam are willing to splurge much more on the box construction.

Kali makes literally the cheapest speakers possible that measure well. The construction quality reflects that.

Looks like that's the only way to do it, assuming the A30Pro will output both RCA and XLR at the same time.

Too bad Monoprice didn't implement left AND right XLR inputs and pass-throughs. Having only a single mono channel pass through definitely limits the usefulness of it.

The Monoprice M-10 v2 subwoofer is RMA'd due to what I consider severe port noise. This was my first ported subwoofer. ordered a sealed SVS 2000 Pro instead.

That will be a nice sub!

I have been tempted to try out my new Kali LP-6 with my SB-1000, which we set up in a small game room in the house.

I hope the two are a great match. The 10" ported monolith pounds some serious bass. I'm playing a 10+ hour long 30Hz test tone now (from Youtube) just for kicks and it plays with deep authority. I hope the 12" SB2000 plays this tone just as deep and authoritative.

I found the notion of an end-user adding internal damping to the cheap speaker enclosures very interesting.

It would be better, however, if someone like @amirm did a similar experiment in a measurable way to see if there's actual benefit.
Yes, that would be pretty cool.

will be an interesting comparison --)
