Kali LP-6/LP-8 V2 (2nd Wave) studio monitors released

Anyone ever feel the bass is a little weird on these. Not talking about the amp firmware issue but the upper bass sounds distinctly ahead of the lower bass? I assume this is from the front port. I also seem to notice the port or cabinet resonance issue at 650hz. I have some free time and was hoping to measure these speakers driver components and cabinet, and try a few simple mods like bracing.

I just couldn't get past the sound of the woofer on this speaker and couldn't find a buyer for them so I modded my lp6 v2, I had plenty of leftover MDF from some speaker builds and it was a very easy modification. Placed some adhesive dampening material on the amp plate as well the port. Didn't measure anything yet but subjectively they seem to sound quite a bit better. I do have an un-modded pair I want to take impedance sweeps on and compare with the modded version which I will share here at a later time.

Due to the nature of rear panel, one simply can't slide a brace in that extends to the side walls, you must first build up a layer of material that is deeper than the lip on the back side of the speaker. I just put a block on each side. Mod has the added benefit of being able to unplug the dang LED power cable, can't stand the bright blue LED's. I never turn mine off so not much sense keeping the led plugged in.

New colour option which I quite like, seems to be available in USA only through Sweetwater and in Europe through Thomann:

Off topic, but you know what's real classy? Black studio monitors with a very light splattering of white paint on top. Similar to a star field.

One thing I love about plain white / black monitors is that they form a good canvas for you to design something on top or even just do abstract splatter designs. I'm really surprised I don't see any studio monitors advertise this so their products look a little bit more flashy in official PR, even if it can be done with any speaker.

Hello everyone! I received a pair of LP6v2 a week ago. I encountered the following problem - the blue LED on one of the speakers changed its brightness for some time, and today it went out completely. Otherwise, the speaker is completely functional. It's not that it bothers me much, but maybe someone has already encountered such a problem? How realistic is it to fix it yourself?

I have not, but gaffer tape over the other LED will fix your problem. You're lucky, I have gaffer tape over both.

I would like to bring back to life the LED that went out. The funny thing is that I bought them in a neighboring country, and it's not easy to return them under warranty. That's why I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this problem. I saw a video of disassembly of the first version of LP6, it looks pretty simple.

I would email the company. Maybe they can give you DIY instructions themselves for you to do it since you are not easily accessible.

That's what I did, thanks for the tip! Let's see what the answer to my very strange question is.
