Hints for reducing annoying content on ASR

Sorry Rick, we are not going to ignore you. You started this thread. Its not that easy. ;)

we are not curing Disease or enabling world peace . Contributing members should be aware of the limits of this medium while also checking in on themselves regarding just what they are trying to achieve through their expressions , are they enjoying themselves , is the experience positive for them .
Sure. But suggestions for improving a discussion board are usually quite welcome, no matter how little it helps world peace.

cheers

There's many many more times the number of people satisfied to just read than contribute and we shouldn't lose sight of the value a forum like this has for them, the vast majority , the silent majority!

A point that has been made many times ... and deserves to be oft repeated.

You certainly can't help those that won't help themselves or take responsibility for themselves and their online habits .

This is, unfortunately, a brutal reality ... both online and offline. :(

I found moderating to require more of my time and energy to do well than I originally anticipated. This began affecting my other project plans...

I appreciate the member and staff support I received but did not realize how moderating would change my ability to contribute to ASR as I have as a member and so I turned in my badge. While would not discourage others from moderating, would recommend they approach the role as you would any serious employment situation. If I had, likely would have made a different initial decision.
Well, thanks for trying rick . ( I hadn't realised you'd stepped down when i wrote my original post in this thread ) .

No doubt the self awareness , honesty and wisdom shown in this post is why you were considered in the first place .

It's quite a remarkable place with a membership dynamic one might struggle to find in many other walks of life offering a challenge to staff that in my experience was quite unique.

It's a thankless task , i tip my hat to you for your willingness, effort and most impressively the wisdom you've shown for stepping aside and indeed the way you've done it .

Now who's next for the meat grinder ...? All volunteers will be ignored and another throughly decent and unwitting member who most likely wouldn't ever of imagined themselves doing it will be approached and seduced by Amirm's talk of fine tea and a lifetimes use of his homestead ( or was that just my deal ) .

Harness your inner Nancy, just say no !
