Hi all

Hope this is OK to post in here.

I'm getting a Wiim Ultra (currently have a Pro Plus) as I want to start using Headphones for night listening and also it has a USB input for my External SSD (music collection).

Question I have is.... What headphones would you guys recommend (wired preferably as most of my music is Hi-Res) that will match with the output of the Wiim Ultra for a good full sound (including a nice bass)? The cable needs to be about 3 metres or at least be able to have a longer cable fitted (if that makes sense)

Many thanks for any advice you can give.

Sennheiser HD600/650 ship with 3 m cables, for example.

Not all headphones use cables with separate left and right ground returns. Having that makes fitting a longer ones a lot less problematic. As does high driver impedance.

If you should find that 3 m is still a stretch (literally), your best option would be going for an extra headphone amplifier to be placed near you (the $100-140 class should do). At a given length, an RCA or 3.5 mm to RCA cable is a good bit less problematic than a headphone cable, not to mention the improved convenience.

The new Sennheiser HD550 seems a good listen
