Hello. I have a passive subwoofer using 2 Dayton RSS210HO-8's in parallel, and I am looking for a cheap amplifier to power it. All filtering will be done through a Wiim Ultra, so I don't need any features, just power. Any recommendations? I have a Fosi ZA3 which outputs 235W mono 4 Ohm at 1% THD & 300W @ 10%, but I am looking for a bit more power than that. Preferably class d. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Can you DIY?

Whilst SINAD is a bit average, these are fine for subwoofer duties, plenty of power;

Price is a bit more than I'd like to pay. I'm thinking about the XLS 1002 though. 1000WPC into 4 ohms bridged is sufficient for me, or maybe even less if it's fairly cheaper

Crown XLS amps can be good value, even Behringer NX series....but prices on Crowns have gone up a bunch since I got mine (I have 5, mostly in sub use)

Yes I've noticed the same thing. Was hoping there was something sub $300 I'd not heard about that has the same power on offer at a cheaper price. I'm a little wary of behringer for concerns of reliability and overstated power claims

Amir measured the SMSL A300 in mono BTL mode with over 400 watts at 4 ohms for under €200. The Fosi ZA3's measured power in mono mode was only 200 watts at 4 ohms, which is quite a lot for such an amplifier. Catalog information is not reliable.

Otherwise, used PA amplifiers/power amps from the pro audio sector.

Kinda depends what power range you want as well as budget.

Haha...the most affordable chord product that I owned produced by Mr Watts
Have no idea what that could mean...as far as I can tell Chord electronics products are of minimal value.

On ebay there is someone selling new Crown XLC21300 amps asking $575 but he accepted a $500 offer. These are 1,300 watt per channel with no DSP (which I prefer). I just received mine and it was brand new and works perfectly. A little over budget but Crowns are good quality and reliable and these seem a real bargain.

Personally hadn't seen that line from Crown, will go check it out.

It seems to me this line retails for so much for having a bunch of features most home audio people will never need/use if they had. Thanks for the suggestion though

They are designed to be used as cinema amps and support some JBL cinema processor but they also work fine as a plain power amps. Screw terminals for speaker wires and a non standard balanced connector, which is included, may scare off some people but I had no problems hooking it up.

Only "feature" is a connector for a JBL processor which has all the fancy features. It is actually just a plain power amp.

Yeah looked at some info I found, but no info on cost.
