Not that I can hear a difference but I am wondering why Tidal streaming on the A6 even on MAX FLAC files displays at PCM 44.1 kHz while Apple Music shows PCM 192 kHz. The settings I have are at Original Sampling rate and Eversolo Original Sampling rate OFF (makes no difference on or off). I have selected the max quality for both services. For Tidal the result is the same whether I use the built in Tidal App for streaming or the Tidal app outside the Eversolo control app on an iPhone which connects through Tidal Connect. I have played with all settings that I can find with the same result.

I contacted Tidal Support and received this reply:

We have received your inquiry about the sound quality when playing music on your Eversolo DMP-A6. If you're using TIDAL Connect, we would like to share with you that selected TIDAL partners support HiRes FLAC. For more information on if your specific device is supported, please reference: https://tidal.com/supported-devices?filter=hires-flac,tidal-connect.

On the other hand, if you're using a third-party app, we would like to inform you that TIDAL audio setting Max is not integrated with third-party apps or devices, so this label will not be displayed on your Eversolo DMP-A6.

If your audio setting is set to Max, we will deliver audio quality that aligns with the capabilities of your specific device, and the displayed sample rate will correspond to your device's capabilities.

We hope the information provided was helpful. Please let us know if you have any questions.<<

So is the Eversolo DMP-A6 not capable to stream Tidal at 192 kHz but only Apple Music? Am I missing something?

Can't say about your Eversolo, but I find that surprising. You may need to delve deeper into the settings, as I can't imagine it should limited Tiidal to redbook.

I have a WiiM ultra and also an iFi micro iDSD Black Label, as well as a SBC running Volumio. The WiiM streams wirelessly over my home network, as did Volumio, and the iFi through USB directly from my PC. All devices display the bit depth and sampling rate of the file, including all those beyond redbook.

In the WiiM you must go to into the settings and pick the actual maximum sampling rate, not just a "max" toggle. Perhaps there is something similar in Eversolo's firmware.

Good luck. There must be some DMP-A6 owners on this Forum who know more than I do.

Google tells me:

"To get the best sound quality from Tidal on an Eversolo DMP A6, set the sampling rate to "192kHz" in the device settings, as this allows you to take full advantage of Tidal's highest quality "HiFi" streaming option, which can deliver audio up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution."
