Hello,
I have to buy a new Cd player for my hi fi system at home and I was choosing between Marantz CD6007 and Denon DCD 900NE. During my research i found informations about the Eversolo DMP-A6 that obviously is a streamer but it's also capable of connecting an external cd-rom drive via usb to use it as a "traditional" standalone cd player (along all its interesting features).
Do you think thas using the Eversolo as a Cd player would give a better sound quality than with Denon DCD or Marantz CD6007? Di you ever compare it or test it with your equipment?

Your help is much appreciated!

Best,

Kartingboy

Rip yours CDs and store them on the living room shelf where they belong.
I was I the same boat - files on media player for backup and standalone CD player for serious listening (you know bcause quality bla bla bla..).
Ended quickly when I realized that physical media and the CD player only tormented me and did not provide more compared to file playback from media player.

Depends upon the measurements of the two CD players if they are both audibly transparent ( as is the A6 ) then there won’t be any difference.

Here you can find the Denon review and seems that it is a best-buy in its category. It reproduces the music on the media as it was meant to be. Plays transparent and clear.

The Eversolo is a *very* expensive connector if that's your main reason for buying it.
It seems like a very nice streaming DAC if you are planning to get one for that reason anyway, but don't get one just for a CD transport.

I'm very happy with my external CD drive, but I only use it to rip CDs to FLAC files which I then stream.
I'm not sure how robust they are as CD transports, and mine is physically noisy. Try one out first

Ok thank you.
Well I understand it has a good dac for streaming audio files but the question is: "Is it better a standalone cd Player like Denon DCD900ne or an eversole with cd drive or ripped cd playing for the best sound?".

Eversolo has double ES9038Q2M Dac (one for channel L and R)
Denon has one ESS ES9018K2M Dac with Advanced AL32 Processing Plus and Design DAC Master Clock

but i was a little worried about sound quality,
I wouldn't worry about the "digital' side at all! There will be measurable differences on the analog-side of the digital-to-analog converters, but audible differences are rare.

When it comes to sound quality the most important thing, by far, is the speakers (or headphones) and the acoustic characteristics of the room. And of course you need an amplifier with enough power to drive the speakers as loud as you want to go. Most analog electronics is very good too as long as you're not over-driving an amplifier into clipping/distortion.

Of course the electronics make a difference if you are using EQ/tone controls, room correction, or surround up-mixing, etc.

Most streaming services are lossy and in that case the CD or ripped FLAC MIGHT be better, but most lossy audio is really good these days and if you can hear a difference at all you usually have to listen very carefully to hear a difference (in a proper blind listening test). Or, often the streaming service is using a different master, or a different recording, and then it can be different (better or worse than the CD).

Audiophoolery may be helpful.

No audible difference.

No difference between DACs, no need to worry about that
