As nice as this product is, and I expect will also measure transparent as with other Eversolo products, I just don’t know why anyone would spend this kind of money when you have the WiiM? Maybe a bit more capable in the EQ aspect, obviously very nice looking jewelry, but at 10x the price?

WiiM can also be used as a preamp … used it to drive the Soundfields directly, was superb
And don’t get me wrong, love the looks/features and objective performance of the Eversolo, but I just cannot justify the additional expense vs WiiM. If the WiiM Ultra is anything like what we roughly expect, it will destroy everything else out there, even if it approaches $500-1k (as a value and performance proposition)

Yes I am looking forward to the ‘ultra’, I haven’t found a product that suits everyone, the A-8 comes pretty close.

Just got my EverSolo DMP - A8 and I connected the HDMI ARC to my LG 77" OLED HDMI 2 eARC port and the EverSolo shows PCM 48KHz no matter what I stream. I thought I could stream 192 bit streams from say YouTube but it only shows PCM 48 KHz. Any ideas why?

I will try arc tomorrow if my TV has it, using optical from the Tv here and that too is 48KHz.

sounds like a limitation of LG .. I know that my optical is capped at 44, fyi I have the LG77G1 ...btw isnt it HDMI3

There has only been one iteration of the A-8 so far, I haven’t had the chance to compare any of the Eversolo products to the Cambridge unit, Amir has measured both the Eversolo Z-8 dac and the DMP A-6 and their measurements are both excellent.
I would expect the A-8 to measure and thus sound just as fine.

I have the Eversolo DMP A-8 here ( along with the other Eversolo units and they work flawlessly, only one Eversolo unit failure which was promptly exchanged, much more reliable than my last. foray into Far Eastern manufacture.

In the US I am afraid I can’t help in the U.K. however!
Misue confirmed that within the A-8 analogue stays analogue no A/D processing and that the Sinad is -123dB!
