Dutch&Dutch 8c updated:-
Although the Dutch&Dutch 8Cs were released in 2016,( we were the first retailer anywhere), D&D have continued to add new features , first there was ‘Roon Ready ‘ the 8Cs appear as a output device in Roon, which means that the entire system consists of just a computer running Roon and the 8Cs , I use a silent NUC which is always ‘on’ and an IPad as a remote, just recently Spotify connect has also been added.
Martijn worked closely with REW’s creator John Macaulay to add REW integration to the 8Cs, this allows you to choose ‘8C’ as the equaliser in REW’s preferences, REW measures and creates and requisite filters and then with just a press of a button the filters are sent directly to the speakers.
Finally the latest D&D firmware allows third party ‘plug-ins’ to be added to the speakers software.
The first of which is a collaboration with Edgar Choueiri ot ‘Theoretica’ who has developed the BACCH crosstalk cancellation algorithm, ideally sound from the left speaker should only enter the left ear not then enter the right with a delay caused by SHTF.
The software is material dependent but can add a holographic depth and separation to reproduction.
The 8Cs are completely full-range bass is incredible, they are constant directivity which means the on and off-axis response are the same, which makes them extremely transparent, they have a cardioid response through the midrange which minimises SBIR, so you hear a clearer sound.
They have built in sophisticated tone controls and parametric EQ, which allows you to enjoy deep tight bass with no overhang.
The 8Cs are amongst the finest measuring and sounding loudspeakers currently available and their adjustability means they work in every room.

Just a reminder that Purité Audio were the first retailer to stock Dutch&Dutch’s superb 8C way back in 2016, other designs have fallen by the wayside but the 8C remains one of my favourite loudspeakers.
It is I believe the most complete and suitable design available, not small but relatively compact, full range ( really full range) constant directivity, but in tone controls and peq, Roon/Spotify Connect ready, REW integration the ability now to accept third party ‘plug-ins’ for example Baaach cross cancellation software.
We await the new 6C with anticipation.
