Douk Audio TPA3255 Amplifier with HPF is Coming! Let's Shape it Together!

I simply meant sub out, as in RCA type plugs rather than 3.5mm aux.

PS. I said it already that it’s totally worth checking out at this price.
The comments are simply to give some feedback.
3,5 out, I have cables, both mono & stereo that go from that to RCA. So not an issue to me.
However, the diagram shows it can be used with 1 amp, 1 active subwoofer or a PAIR of active speakers.
Which makes me wonder if the 3.5mm aux out is mono or stereo?

I asked them about the connectors and they said I can use it with both a pair of passive speaker AND active sub.

Aux out is full freq. Stereo out.

I was very hopeful for a new Douk Audio amplifier with TPA3255, but why ditch useful features like balanced input and 12v trig for unbalanced inputs only, a weird hpf and a customisable RGB LED?

It's funny, I do not personally know a single person that uses any balanced inputs or outputs. Maybe it's not what the majority of their market wants.

Well, personally me neither :')

I've never had a use case for them except when I used to run sound for bands and frequently had 50+ ft runs.
My mothers DUAL 1229 TT (a very tiny signal) runs the signal about 5 feet to the Phono preamp, which then runs 12 feet to a line in on an Apt/Holman Preamp then to the tri-amped speakers & & sub-woofers.
From when I first started getting into audio in1974-now. I never had a ground hum in any TT or RCA line that I was unable to solve.
And if you van hear the difference between a properly setup unbalanced setup & a balanced setup in a home environment, you've either got some killer interference issues, some super long runs or just happen to like balanced because you like it, for whatever reason.
I get that.
But from a technical viewpoint, it's probably over kill and unnecessary.

Sometimes it might just be for convenience, perception/bias or a necessity.

Here is just one of them, something I ended up doing for a neighbor:
Source >> DAC >>-- balanced out -->> Amplifier X on XLR
AVR >>-- RCA pre-out -->> Amplifier X on RCA

Douk audio already proposes the H7 pro which is a TPA3255 amp with balanced inputs, so I don't see any point in doing another one. Further, the H7 pro has plenty of competition, from the Fosi V3 mono and ZA3, Aiyima A70 as well as the A5 and A7 from 3e audio and probably many others (Breeze audio/Brzhifi....)

However, no manufacturer has ever proposed an amp with an HPF which was sorely needed as soon as a subwoofer is used, which is a quite common use case in conjunction with bookshelf speakers.

So I am very happy that douk audio filled this niche.

Exactly what I was looking for, I believe my one and pretty much only known option was the MiniDSP 2x4 HD at over 2x the price, although I believe it uses DSP and is not analogue like this one (not sure if it makes a difference though). My A5 should be here tomorrow, although the speaker and cable may not come until another day afterwards.

I only do 2.2 or 4.2 audio.
No AVR, do have a DAC, I do not stream (even on the off chance that I wanted to, it's not feasible here).
(I typically tri-amp) but can do all sorts of configurations since I have 6 identical amps that can be bridged mono & 2 identical amps that are half the power that can also be bridged mono and they all are quite capable of 2 OHM operation (not when bridged mono then 4 OHM is the least).
But I have no use case for balanced.
Others may, for whatever reason and that is fine.

Here is my setup(s).

I have my music files on my NAS (Synology DS423+ and another Orange Pi 5 Plus) that is setup using Navidrome as a music server and I stream to my PC or Phone.

Plan to get a sub (probably Cambridge Audio Minx X301) for my Swan Oasis 140 as I doubt it can do sub-bass well on its own.

Used it for a few hours and I like it! Build quality feels solid with the metal case (I believe the top cover is acrylic) and the knobs are on the heavier side (not as light as the jds atom I have but not as heavy as the Schiit Asgard 3) and it makes a nice click sound when you turn it on/off with the knobs.

Heat wise its not hot enough to be uncomfortable holding it in use. But certainly not cold. It feels like around the same temp as the Schiit Asgard 3.

Does anyone have any experience or measurements of the A5?
I cannot decide which one to buy, A5 vs O-Noorus D1.
Thank you!

Looks like there is still some heat being generated even if its just turned on, although lukewarm and less than the schiit asgard 3 idle heat.

It's normal for every TPA3255, about 9 - 10 watts idle usage and heat.

I can't be happier! The HP filter dial work as supposed, and the AUX OUT is controlled by the volume knob! These are 2 out of the 3 features I desire the most (the last one being auto on/off). I like the RGB lights too! Time to retire my Fosi V3. I'll finally have a much more appropriate way to integrate my subwoofers. Keep up the good work, Douk!
