AsciLab speakers are about to launch

still would love a minimal listening distance, and an acoustical axis, especially since both drivers are fairly far apart for a two way.
I think the waveguide effectively (in some sense) puts the two drivers closer together. But it's still a good question.

Due to waveguide size, CTC (center to center) is relatively far apart than non-waveguide speakers. But more important factor is CTC wavelength at the crossover point. We have λ/2=CTC at crossover point.
This is quite close distance for a 2 way non-coaxial speaker. You can use it as nearfield monitor at 1M, even at closer distance too.

The Klippel NFS measurements can give you this exact information. But it is up to AsciLab to specify the minimum recommended listening distance or not.

Thanks for sharing such a great articles.
I searched your another post too. It was helpful too. (https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...-and-far-field-definitions.23841/#post-801349)

When I come back the office, I’ll check the response again. It will be a good evidence to specify proper minimum listening distance, though I think already it is acceptable to listen at 1m and even closer.

Sorry for not including the source to the 2 screen captures in my post #460. Here it is.

Hey @ascilab, I was wondering if there are any plans / info on ceiling mounting brackets for integrating any of these speakers into an Atmos setup?
Absolutely love these measurements, next level! Am definitely going to look into getting some when I upgrade.

We are also designing compact sealed type bookshelf and sealed type height speaker.

Both of them have same internal volume and response and 14~15cm(5.5~6”) depth and 11~17cm(4.3~6.7”) for height speaker.

For bass response, F3 is around 80Hz.
For mounting option, Vesa100 is available.
Don’t know yet it is possible to hang with screw.

Are there caps on the binding posts that can be removed for banana plug use?

There is hole at the binding post. I forgot to add on the rendering image. You can use banana plug.

Amazing that F3 can get to 80Hz from such a small depth.
If so, in a multi-channel configuration, it seems like it would be no problem to configure all channels with this little cutie if the setup has subwoofers.
Can't wait to see some samples produced and do some interesting measurements.

Interested in a sealed version of the C5 and C6. Would there be any improvements in distortion?

Thanks to less excursion by sealed box, it can be seen having less distortion than PR box version when it measures full range Multi-tone distortion. But it’s all about IMD from excursion. It’s not improved fundamentally. Using bass stand will add high pass filter 200~300Hz for satellite speaker. It can improve IMD much more while having full range bass extention.

Yes. If no need to play high SPL and rather size matter, it’s very suitable to use them as multichannel speaker with subwoofer.
MTM type is also in our roadmap. For center speaker too.

Any news on your website? Can you provide a launch date?

I would love those angled speakers as these is not much like it on the market for surround and Atmos. Was looking at the kef R8 meta but they are pricey.

Any ideas on what the expected price of the A6B Active price per pair will be?
The pre-order price will be below $4,000, and this does not include shipping costs. For Europe and the United States, an additional shipping fee of approximately $300 will apply for the A6B active.

Thanks, I'll be looking to grab a pair, living in Busan, so minimal shipping costs.

These look like the perfect upgrade from my Amphion One15's as studio monitors!

I may be in Korea in April of next year... I may have to find a way to bring a pair of A6B actives back to Canada with me, haha.

Looks absolutely amazing! Any way to know the ballpark for the pricing of these? Am definitely going to get a couple of these when I eventually upgrade to Atmos! I expect the measurements of these to also be superb, can't wait for everything to release! :D:D
