The M1 can deliver 2 kW continuously when fed by 240V mains and 2 kW for several seconds when fed by a dedicated 120V 15A line.
I like it when a amp needs 240 V AC

Anthem lists for $3500 USD each (WOWZA!) IDK the "street price"
Once we hit 240V, we are playing into "Pro" territory.
I like Anthem's processors a lot but this AMP.. $$$ there's much better values playing this high wattage realm IMHO.

Stereophile measured the M1 and the results are not stellar if you are looking for an amplifier that performs well below 1 watt or has low distortion in higher frequencies:

This is ugly.
The best use case seems to be for subwoofer.

I didn't like them.
This shows why Hypex NCore and Purifi Eigentakt are special class D technologies: their high frequency distortion is as low as bass and mids.

I meant not stellar of course, post corrected. At this point, this amp has no reason to exist.

I borrowed a pair of these for a three day weekend two? three years ago. First reaction was different -really different - probably took about three -maybe four albums and I decided I liked it. OK -pricewise - these fall into the "wait twenty years"-depreciation is my friend - before buying category -given my age that seems a bit unlikely to happen.
