I have a spare TacT Mic.
I was wondering if what device I need to connect to the computer to run a REW software scan.

I am just weighing if I need to buy a UMIK-1 or this converter for REW software.

Thank you.

As long as it's a measurement microphone that's omnidirectional and has a compensation file, you can use it with REW.
Otherwise, a non-calibrated mic can still be good for finding the room modes in the bass frequencies, but less suitable for full band room correction.

I think Tact microphones used lower than 48 volt phantom voltage. I don't know if they are okay with 48 volts. They might be, many of the measurement mics work over a wide range of phantom voltage values. Lots of mics that look like the same design say things like, "15-48 volts phantom power". I've owned some Tact gear and seem to recall the mic ran on either 12 or 15 volts using the Tact, but it might well work at more voltage like many similar microphones.

Now if you going to need an audio interface and have to buy one, I would recommend the Umik. It plugs into a laptop with USB, no other box needed and it is calibrated for SPL. Also worth getting the Umik from Cross Spectrum labs for not much more money. They provide better calibration data.
