I currently have an Audiolab 6000A that I use for 2 purposes;
1) As a power amp for Front channel (L/R) duties with my Denon X3700H for home theatre using HT bypass
2) As an integrated amp for 2.2 music listening and is paired with a WiiM mini and a MiniDSP flex unbalanced DAC/preamp coupled with the Dirac Live license upgrade
My questions are;

Would the Lyngdorf TDAI 1120 be an upgrade that would yield more headroom for the power amp duties (as I understand that it has HT bypass capabilities). I currently have Klipsch RP-6000F towers but have ordered Arendal 1723 S THX towers which have lower sensitivity, and

Would there be any noticeable improvement for music compared to my current setup assuming I resell the WiiM, MiniDSP & Audiolab 6000A with the added benefit of reducing the number of boxes and complexity of the setup?

From what I've read online the Room Perfect software is very capable and perhaps a lot easier to get right than Dirac which I've not had an easy time with and pretty sure the results I've got from it aren't optimal.

As a follow on question I'd also be interested to know if I were to sell the MiniDSP would I be able to resell the Dirac Live license with it?

Thinking aloud and as an alternative to the above, would it be possible to adjust my setup so that I sell just the Audiolab 6000A and replace with a 2 or 3 channel power amp (e.g. Nord purifi) connect Front L/R pre-outs from my AVR to the RCA inputs of the MiniDSP flex and then the RCA outputs of the MiniDSP to the power amp RCA inputs in such a way that the MiniDSP doesn't affect EQ or gain (e.g. retain HT bypass function) and to use Toslink connection from the WiiM mini to the MiniDSP with Dirac live/MSO EQ settings applied....maybe it's a reach but interested to know if this would work or not

The Lyngdorf takes you from 75W to 120W - but that is only 2dB - not really a significant increase.

If headroom is what you want, then your second option of getting the Purify is the way to go. If I understand your suggestion with the flex - it sounds like it would work, but you would need to select the EQoff // EQ on as well as changing the inputs on the Flexl.

I can automate a lot of that with the Harmony remote but it leaves the question of volume/gain and whether the MiniDSP would put the fronts out of balance or would it just passthrough the gain settings from the AVR like the Audiolab does

volume/gain and whether the MiniDSP
As far as I know the MiniDSP has no volume bypass setting. You would be best leaving the mini DSP at full volume *(0dB so no change from the input) and controlling the volume from the AVR and MiniDSP.

Ah I can see that becoming a PITA

Not quite sure why - surely you are using the AVR volume control anyway (since you usually use HT bypass with the 6000A)

So the only difference now is you use the Wiim for volume control when listening to that, rather than the Flex.

I currently use both the WiiM & the flex for volume control, I think in my proposed setup I'd constantly forget to revert back to 0db on the MiniDSP and throw channel levels out of whack on the HT side of things

Why do you need to use both? Just leave the flex on 0
