I just received an update on the now older Hiby model, r6iii, that added system wide PEQ.
Pretty neat, it works with the plugins that's also system wide. Currently running convolution with crossfeed.
It looks to be pretty good, resolution of adjustment is pretty fine and will fit most profiles from oratory. The pre-amp might be a little limited in range for some profiles though, need about 1 more db of negative preamp for my hd700.

So far, this is the best implementation of eq on android i've seen, having been a user of wavelet for my other daps previously that would randomly not work for a song or two, especially on apple music.

Just received my R6 today, very impressed with the Mseb and the PEQ, first android device yet it’s easy enough to use for someone that’s spent their life in Apple ecosystems.

Could you detail how to enable crossfeed? I'm having a hard time figuring this out on my R6 Pro II.

Hiby’s idea/naming of crossfeed is ”sound field”.

You‘ll find it under “settings > audio settings > plug ins > sound field.

You’ll be able to adjust the amount you want then you can enable and it will be applied

as somafunk mentioned, its under "sound field" but actually that option is a little buggy for me. I use convolution for the crossfeed now, and it runs with whatever eq profile you have on without issue.

How exactly do I get convolution to do it? That’s the one I had a hard time making work.

I'm using a profile from here:

Github: ShanonPearce ASH listening set

hopefully posting links is okay here on this forum. took me a while to search through some filters to find one that I like. Also, theres another plugin to change the sampling rate of anything you're playing on the dap to 44.1 so it works even with other files, but that's also a little fiddly, sometimes you gotta restart the dap for it to work, but for the most part it's seamless.

So do I browse to that link using the DAP and then download those onto the DAP and then somehow use Convolution to select it? Or do I need to use a computer to download them and then save them to SD card then put the card into the DAP? This is where I get most confused.

you can download it straight onto the dap then:

settings --> audio settings --> plugins --> tap on convolution --> select desired file.

make sure to test it on audio files that are the same sample rate as the selected convolution file else it wont work
