One of three of my sons responded a 'protects what seems to be necassary', the two others just posted one or two laughs.
The Young are, as the old ones, different ...
Always wonder about that. First, that's an interesting gear set-up for 1954 (Rear Window). Also, was that much lens really needed just to peek across a courtyard?Greenwich Village retro-hipsters:

Who is your Spirit Guide? Sheldon Cooper?I am sooo far ahead of uze 'awl about cable-OCD.
Yes, my cable-compulsion continues to grow 'em in sheer numbers and the count of bins that are full of them:
*My collections are not tangled messes
*My collection has grown out of using cable-ties
*My collection now stuff 'em in ziplocs
*My collection labels all the ziplocs (YY/MM, length, type)
*My collection sorts the bins by separating similar-type cables together
*My bins are also properly labeled
*If a cable MUST be in a visible location - anywhere in the house - the color of the cable MUST match the background
*All hidden (or otherwise) cables MUST be the correct length << no more than a few loops en-route; including power cables
*All cables serving active duty MUST bear To/From labels at each connector-terminating end.
Beat that!
Should I seek therapy??
[a shout-out must go to aliexpress for allowing me to obsess w/relatively minimal cable costs]
