Neumann KH 310A Review (Powered Monitor)

I was trying to avoid having to buy a sub(s) by getting the 310s.... I have a super ultrawide 49" wide monitor on my desk, which makes speaker placement a bit tricky.

Even if you had 310's, I think a 150 + 750 will give you an objectively better sound than the 310's with no sub. 310 + sub would likely beat out the 150's + sub (as they should)

310 and 150 have a very different directivity. Sub vs no sub is also not comparable because of extremely different placement options.

Looks like it. Those dimples on the woofer surround look very very familiar.

It looks like the same woofer & midrange used in current model.

Maybe the II update is all about the plate amp & DSP features. Pure speculation in my part.

Very similar, I hope, with the same dimensions and the screwholes on the side at the same position. If my O300Ds finally fail I'd like to replace them by the current KH310 flavour, using the grill from the O300D.

The Adam A8H and Hedd Type 20 are pretty similar to KH310 but cheaper .
Anyone had a chance to compare them to KH310 ?

Both substantially worse in their own ways. Hedd is OK in terms of response and dispersion but way more distorted, Adam is substantially worse in both on and off axis.

Yes, Sound and Recording, for instance.

Also, HEDD hisses as hell, in contrast to the dead silent KH 310. Not quite as much as the Type 07 MK2, but nearly as much.

KH310 is pretty old by now , the new model should be much better

The KH310 like also all other Neumann monitors is very good so the new model cannot be so much better, the improvements are rather small when the basis is really good.
