Stontronics 5V 1A is not LPS. This is a pulse switching regulator type AC adapter.
E30 was designed way prior the existence of L30 project (the name even). Latest revision has up the protection voltage to make sure it doesn't break. Also mind that the L30 and E30 don't share the exact same jack. You can't plug the E30 plug into L30 jack. We did all the protection for L30, DC, over voltage, 110V plug to 220V etc. Protection for E30 is an afterthought.I have a small rant for our friends at Topping to consider.....the E30/L30 are sold separately but obviously make a fine pair and are intended to work together. So....I bought both and loved them, they are a beautiful office system and with HD800's are as satisfying to listen to as my DX7 Pro, SRM-353X and Stax SR-L700's in the main room. So all good....until I moved them and accidentally detonated the E30 because it requires a 5V supply but USES THE SAME POWER JACK AS THE 15V AC L30, hence I stupidly plugged in 15V AC just for a few seconds, and the magic smoke escaped.
So Topping....please consider in designing stacked products the fact that people can be dumb, and either provide sufficient PSU overvoltage protection (ideally not a fuse, certainly not a SMD fuse) or just use different size jacks so this stacking error cannot happen...I am sure I'm not the only one to have done this !
Otherwise - love the products, shame I have to buy the DAC twice !
Yes. This is normal behavior. I'm assuming E30 was off at the time or the PI wasn't on.I like my E30, but it is something that is bothering me !
I have E30 connected by USB to RPi4 and by Toslink to my TV set.
Even the tv sound is set to go to TV speakers, when I turn on the TV, sound is ruted to E30.
I suppose the TV has some problems with sound setting, but what is annoyng is that E30 switches automatically to Toslink input, even i have it setted to USB !
@JohnYang1997, could you please tell me if that is the default behaviour of E30, to automatically switch between input sources?
I have to mention that i have USB standby setting enabled in Ropiee.
Thank you !

sure but blue and red aren't actually out yet.So if you order the red an blue ones, they will be the one with the protection?
If you had put this line first it would have saved me some readingAll my sound impressions are subjective.
Stontronoics produced more types of 5V adapters. It looks like thisStontronics 5V 1A is not LPS. This is a pulse switching regulator type AC adapter.

Sincerest apologies. Your power supply is certainly a linear power supply. It's almost gone these days.Stontronoics produced more types of 5V adapters. It looks like this

Mine is about 6 years old. It is probably out of production. It is relatively big and too heavy for switching power supply. The label shows input 17W for 1000mA 5V output. Model number on the label is AD05000RBS.
i would have a question for all the owners, preferably those who also own(ed) smsl gear...are the remotes any better here, as in, are they anymore user friendly?
I see, for some reason i can hear a bit of popping / crackling at times especially in the left ear - something truly just does not feel right at all. I also noticed optical seems to not want to work on the E30 either (with the driver installed).I would have thought so. All components have some degree of noise if you amplify enough. Play some music on your most sensitive HP- as loud as you would ever get- pause playback. If you cant hear that noise, no problem!
generically marked buttons of which of you first have to press one to wake up/enable the remote, imo IS NOT user friendly

There's a great forum called head-fi where the readership will love all that audiophile nonsense that you posted...
Sound quality of E30 depends on power supply quality. Using USB power from computer may measure well but sounds worse than using power from better quality source
2) As usual, DAC is sensible to quality of USB cable.
Added iFi iSilencer between computer USB port and USB cable helped to remove some nervousness or harshness in the sound.
As usual, RCA cables have also some level of influence to resulting sound quality.
I found DSD source format playback as better sounding option for E30 than PCM
