White Screen Issue on My DAC Display Need Advice

Hi everyone,

Iam experiencing a problem with my DAC/Amplifier. Whenever I power it on, the display turns completely white and doesn’t show any information. Despite the white screen issue, the audio output seems to work fine.

I have tried basic troubleshooting steps like restarting the device, checking the power source, and verifying connections, but the screen remains white screen. The issue started recently and hasn’t improved with normal use.

Has anyone else encountered a similar problem with their audio equipment? Could this be a firmware issue, a hardware fault with the display, or something else? Any suggestions or advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It's a good job there's only one "DAC/Amplifier" on the market otherwise nobody would have the first clue about how to help you here.

Yes, yes, and yes.

Looks like most of the DAC works including the screen backlight (it's some sort of LCD, right?), but either the screen electronics are dead or it's not getting any data (e.g. bad ribbon cable, though that seems unlikely as it's usually a mechanical damage kind of thing). I'd be willing to bet it's a stupid little shorted SMD ceramic cap that's bringing a supply rail down.

Anyway, odds are it's a bad display unit. If the manufacturer can't supply one, I'd try my luck searching for whatever identifying marks are printed on the thing on AliExpress.

Does the display stays always on?
