Two priceless gems for me:
‘The sound stops as quickly as it starts’.
‘Drain internal noise from components’.

...only until it reaches terminal velocity.Surely the speed of an amp depends on the height one drops it from.
I second that. All fun aside, a square wave (or impulse) response/handling by an amplifier (to a load) is very measurable. And it’s settling time can be expressed in terms of speed, no? I am sure there are corresponding subjective listening effects.Technically, “fast” amplifier has short rise time of transient response and high output slew rate.

Which terminal has the highest velocity, bananas, spades, or bare wire?...only until it reaches terminal velocity.
Which terminal has the highest velocity, bananas, spades, or bare wire?
Am I wrong when I have a feeling that more stupid the thread topic, the more it is popular?
Well -- on (i.e., near) Earth, it should reach terminal velocity if dropped from a high enough altitude.Surely the speed of an amp depends on the height one drops it from.
I supect you are not wrong. Does that make you feel better, or worse?Am I wrong when I have a feeling that more stupid the thread topic, the more it is popular?

Up to a point.
It will eventually hit terminal velocity.
Aerodynamic amps with less air friction will be faster.
Ergo:
Fast amps are those with aerodynamic shapes.

So I guessing one of these ought to slide through the air more readily than a Marantz 8b?Up to a point.

Might wanna stick some fins on this, get directional with the slipstream:

More like aerospace engineers (also known as “rocket scientists” ). But yes with fizziks background, speaking for myself. You Fizziks guys are so smart...
Apparently the one that Amir tested did.
