We've seen ugly components, ugly speakers, and certainly ugly frequency responses. What are some ugly looking headphones?

example (they look silly on anyone's head)

I don't know about ugly, but the goofiest might have been Jecklin Float electrostatics. I think Levinson was importing them, back in the day.

On the other hand, if you were searching for that Zombies of the Stratosphere look, it had that going for it.

I think it's the 70's pornstache that really enhances the goofiness ...

You might be on to something there. After all, Mark did co-author a sex manual with an ex-wife. I never read it, or even looked at the pictures. So I really don't know if his headphones were incorporated somehow into the step by step procedures. And I don't even want to think about front to back depth, pace and rhythm, or how dry or liquid it was, in that context.

Well. a certain "bionic insect" factor cannot be denied for sure.

At least they're not designed for the mysterious Roundears or Flatears. Besides, I wouldn't expect a headphone costing 4 grand to be worn much in public anyway.

Surely that was just a stupid April Fools joke.
That was my first thought.
However, it's a real 'thing' that sells for a typically Dysonesque asking price, i.e. far more than what it's actually worth.
If the build quality is anything like their vaccuum cleaners then durability and operational longevity (lifetime) will be questionable at best.
I have a 25 year old DC02 that's still going strong, used every week. Why? Because like BMW they used to build products that last!
Now, so many companies are making stuff to cost and thus, built with sub-par materials and components, with built-in obsolescence and reduced operational lifetime expectancy.
Sad times.

The first review on their own website makes for hilarious reading:

Chen:
'...One minor drawback I noticed was the fan noise when using the air purification feature in a quiet setting. However, this was not an issue when I was in public places or listening to music, as the fan noise was easily masked.'

So there's designed-in background noise as soon as you start using them. Genius.

That's what I thought a while ago as well.:)
Last weekend at a Dyson stand I held 2 of those in my hands.
Unfortunately demo did not work.
I could get the N.C. to switch on and off which worked really well.
I assume this is needed because it can also remove the sound from the fans.
Small pads, not uncomfortable.
