Don't go around giving them ideas!! :(
or ...
Soon .. you will see Audio Ethernet switches with mechanical vibration control. Same type of "outriggers", you see under speakers. So that the audio packets travel with the least amount of issues due to environmental vibrations... Audio packets are fragile, vibrations produced by speakers, especially subwoofers could provoke "smearing" in the packets ... resulting in a contraction of the soundstage due to local space-time variations... :p
Good Night People!

Peace.

An ultra high-end store would be doing its client base a severe disservice if it did not attempt to sell them a $700 network switch. Add some gold plated RJ45 cables and a couple of magical vibration isolators and that's proper service! A janky data switch from Best Buy would not fit with the image that the client base wants to project. The switch housing must be carved from a solid block of grade four Titanium even if the internal components are the same as the Best Buy switch. Maintaining the exclusive high-end look is far more important than the performance of the component.

"every packet is transported with the utmost care to ensure it preserves even the finest detail." - this quote is available to audiophile switch manufacturers for a modest sum.
Think of the S&M (sales and marketing, not that other kind!) opportunities for a technology that uses analog transport of one's digital data packets. Surely that would be the breakthrough that would finally get the stairsteps/digititis out of analog (edit) oops, I mean digital!
