I have a Roku TV with the following outputs
- Headphone 1/8"
- optical
I want to connect to my Tannoy system
- Tannoy TS10 - with high pass to
- Tannoy Reveal 501a
This has a plethora of inputs. But limited with a 1/8" output from the TV.
The odd part is this.
If I use a spliter, 1/8" stereo -> spliter -> 1/4" TPS -> the 501a - is sounds fine. Although I can't connect the subwoofer (no TPS inputs)
If I use a 1/8" stereo -> subwoofer -> 501a, I get the base, but no highs.
I had a similar experience for 1/8" stereo -> 1/4" TPS -> the 501a, no highs. Switched cables and it worked.
I tested the sub with Mac -> Presonus -> Sub (via XLR in) -> 501a (via XLR in) - works great.
So the high pass seems to work
it could be that for RCA the high pass does not work - but I can't see why
(note: there no adjustments on the TV for 2.1 or anything similar)
None of this is making sense to me.
I'm happy to use Optical TC out, but I suspect I need a DAC with balanced output.
Just dont know what to use there. They seem to all be RCA out.
Oh, it would be great if all this stuff were just USD-C.
Any help is appreciated
