Besides the Susvara and the He6se, what other headphones really "need" this level of power?

They are in the category of low impedance headphones needing a lot of current, and then some. For just about any other headphone the A70 Pro will destroy them very quickly, along with your hearing.

Could you please name one of these?

That's what I'm getting at. What is the actual market for these, what is the use case for this level of power, 2 headphones? What customers are maximizing 17w out of a headphone amp?

could you please elaborate the "issue"?

I don't think the SP400 has 47kohm for both balanced and unbalanced, but the A90D does have 10k ohm for SE and 2k ohm for Balanced.
Considering the 200 ohm output (I guess it's balanced) stays in the 1:10 rule, it's more then enough

thanks, I heard about Van Damme cables being good
If you search for SMSL SP400 input impedance, the value that will be quoted is 47kohm but it doesn't say for SE or balanced. Since it is not mentioned, I would assume for both SE and balanced the values are 47kohm.

I would consider Susvara as a medium impedance, low sensitivity headphone (60 Ohms, 83 dB/mW).
For example, if we compare it to Dan Clark's Aeon 2 (13 Ohms, 92 dB/mW), for 89 dB of sound pressure the former needs 8.1 mA and 0.48 V while the latter needs 6.2 mA and 0.08 V. Susvara is much more demanding in voltage than in amperage, compared to headphones of lower impedance.

Better Smsl D6 and Topping A70Pro or Topping E70 and L70? I think the D70Pro is too expensive.

Any budget dac and a70pro, a70pro it is unique, it is Topping's best product to date. IMO d70pro is just average, no substantial upgrade from dx7pp and d90se.

More specifically, gardening season has started and I have a huge field to de-weed. :(
You need to add a Patreon level "Pay my gardener and I will review more quickly". :D

I think AKG K701, K702.
with 62 Ohms and 93 dB/mW, I wouldn’t consider them “…in the category of low impedance headphones needing a lot of current”
