I would love to know how many of these various super high end components are actually sold

Why are you bashing Playboy, they had great interviews and some good articles, audiorags have zero to offer.
And the center folds always had some outstanding points.

My fondest wish was always to be reincarnated as Huge Hefner. :p

You might be surprised. On the world stage there are many more super wealthy folks
than you might think. The thing I find most hard to understand is the more money they
have the dumber they seem to get.

What, no Corvette? BLAH
Robb Report = same same Stereophile Elitism. :(
They maybe decided the American muscle cars scene was over represented and axed the Corvette. It surely deserved a spot in that list as does the Camaro.

My equipment is better than anyone’s, with respect to “textural suppleness”.

Prove Me Wrong.

Send it to me for evaluation.
I promise a honest and fair review. ;)

No, just that they're an embarassment to the community in general.
We constantly look for new ways to refer to our passion for reproduced music, since they've changed the term "audiophile" into something reasonable people are ashamed to be associated with. That's a honest fact!

If I was going to be embarrassed by others (a weird response if you think about it) I expect it would more likely be by people who defecate on doorsteps of those they disagree with. I mean, that is embarrassing. But you do you, as they say.

Looks like the list is only front-engined coupes (although they do mention the forthcoming demise of the Audi R8 in the preamble) so maybe the Corvette has transitioned to another category?

You don't seem to understand the "crap" that someone like Tara exudes. If you do like wallowing in such crap, hey, you do you.

I have no interest in anything they do. Looks like you are the one interested in scatology. I'm not, so I'm tapping ignore now. :p

On their recommended list is a $363.000 turntable... the OMA K3. That made me curious...

Hilarious, just from the quotes alone:
Krebs is CEO of Hyspecs Hydraulic [...]
In fact, Krebs reached out to me a few years ago, asking if I'd spend some time with him and his son at the High End Munich show to discuss turntable design. After perusing his website, I felt wholly inadequate, but in another email, he assured me that my experience compensated for whatever technical accreditation I lacked. We met, and I told him what I knew and believed based on experience and what I'd gleaned from others with mechanical engineering knowledge. He confirmed most if not all of my views based on his technical knowledge and experience. We were on the same page.
Reviewer won over..
Only direct drive, the two aver, can track and accurately reproduce a record and not be slowed down, however slightly, by the transients and dynamic contrasts presented in a record's grooves. By the time a belt system's sensors notice slowing and compensate, they claim, the change is well "past due." [...] Weiss and Krebs found that, "much to their astonishment," the most minute speed changes were audible—"down to arc seconds of rotation." There are 1,296,000 arc seconds in one rotation.
I guess Newton's law of inertia no longer applies?
Can it be measured, though?
The K3 produced the best overall measurements I've encountered (figs.1 & 2), but not by large margins.
Measured frequency deviation at 3150 Hz was 0,34%, or 10 in 3150. Clearly audible, according to Weiss and Krebs...

How does a $1000 Technics SL-1200 M3D perform? Slightly better, with 0,30% deviation: http://archimago.blogspot.com/2014/08/measurements-technics-sl-1200-m3d-wow.html. Better performance at 0,3% of the price..

Dudes, vinyl is obsolete. Any reason someone enjoys sit is fine, but as reference grade reproduction,......it has never, for even one minute in it's entire history been a reference. Messing with it is like dueling over the best type of MP3 compression algorithms.

You had me to read this ... err... "review" and .. this among other incredible gems, was to me noteworthy:
finally, a tube-regulated supply using a Xenon rectifier, which produced a surprising yet inexplicable sonic improvement, as judged by Weiss, Krebs, and OMA tech Douglas Eisemann, who conceived and implemented the idea
o_O:rolleyes::eek:.

Will wonders ever cease? When will the subjective community wake up? Seriously?

It takes an uncommon sense of self-righteousness to write this level of B.S.
I'll stop there.. I wanted to say much more.

Peace.
