I bought the VMPS SuperTower III in 1994. They have been amazingly sturdy and were moved between an office and several different homes. The bottom of the cabinet contains a 15" passive radiator. It's accessible by removing the bottom wood stand. The foam surround on the passive radiator required a replacement but everything else is original. They can fill a room unlike any other speaker I own. :D

I have these speakers also. As well as the Super Tower. Bought my Super Towers in 1980 as a kit from Brian Cheney at VMPS. Bought the Super Tower III's about a year ago and am still refurbishing them. No offense, but you do have a few of the specs wrong...here's some corrections...

A friend of mine had an interesting pair of JBL L77 two-way 10" speakers that I liked. View attachment 290496

A lot of bass from what was then a relatively small enclosure. First system I saw that used a passive radiator.

I briefly coveted a pair of these at the JBL dealer circa 1970. As I recall the dealer wanted Cdn$700, (today that's $5500) -- I didn't buy them.

It's been awhile but I believe these are 1970's JBL Lancers on the right. They are two ways with a passive radiator.

Resto-mod TrueValue console radio from the 1940's. It will play any station upon request. Just ask Alexa.

The Spendor Bc1's were good enough really.
Replaced by ex-dem S100's. Even better, and debatably still working. However, replaced by Sierra LX's. Subjectively, all the speakers I've owned were great! Lucky me!:)

Magnepan 1.5. It just like them, even though they are very far from perfect. The last "small" Magnepan with proper wood trim. Mine's got black fabric and oak, and dates from around 1991.

Afraid the only speakers I have from the last century are a pair of Minimus 7's. They'll probably last until the next century...

I still have M7s scattered all over. Quite good for the low price--especially paired with good subs. They're on my workbench, my cottage 5.1 HT and until a couple years ago were in my living room 5.1 setup until my brother gave me his unwanted Kef "egg" 5.1 system.

Pioneer HPM 100
KEF 103.2

Not sure how much of that is just fond memories though and wether they would sound so impressive nowadays. The KEF's I do keep an eye out for, pair on eBay for £500, but alas I'm slimming down, well actually getting rid of everything and starting from scratch and sticking with my next purchase for the remainder of my years, so trying to avoid falling back into collecting equipment again. Got to the point the hobby just became an addiction to be honest, which detracted from the music which is what Hi-fi is truly about.

My first love were Meridian actives, M2’s and then for years their M10, these weren’t my original pair, they were taken in part -ex against some 8Cs but they were not disgraced.

Meridian M2’s we’re the first pair of speakers I bought, I still find their proportions appealing .

Aerial Acoustic Model 5's. A lousy listening room but my wife lets me take pictures out there. The dogs enjoy the cool tile floor.
