Last.fm's tags are great for finding music! Go to an artist or release you like, click on a tag, then click on the "play ____ tag" button to the right to start a playlist of relevant tunes. I found a ton of excellent dream pop that way over a decade ago.

on Spotify, right click on a song and choose "play radio" (something like that, can't doubble check atm)
I look at the credits, and see with whom the members of the group have played with.
Anthony Jackson had the longest list of "played with" that I remember seeing.
