RME adds Room EQ capability to TotalMix FX (UFX+, UFX II, UFX III and UCX II only)

Can anyone tell if there is a way to create a crossover in a correctly complementary way?
Is applying two HPF and LPF filters a guarantee that they will add up correctly?
 
I am creating a LR24 crossover by using 2xLP and 2xHP (12dB/oct, Q=0.7 each) and phase inverting either the LP or HP speakers. Works fine.
 
Yes it's working fine. Also you can always use a spectrum analyzer VST to check your filters!
 
RME just launched Total Mix 1.96 Beta with the function to Import REW EQs. You can design your filter in REW and then import it to TM. Link below:

What I still don't understand: How do I get my multichannel audio in there from consumer devices?

I have a Marantz Cinema 70s and have the analog pre outs connected to analog inputs of the UCX II.

As far as i understand, the Toslink input of the UCX II supports up to 8 channels. I have not tried this though. In theory, HDMI splitters exist, but the problems here are DRM and/or decoding.
What do you mean with consumer devices?

I use RCA -> 6.3mm unbalanced cables.

It's ADAT input (up to 8 channels at single speed). I doubt there are consumer sources that have ADAT digital outs for multichannel audio.

Consumer devices, such as cd/blu-ray player, TVs etc. vs pro audio/recording gear. Sorry for my english. I am not a native speaker.

It seems they usually have Spdif (optical or coaxial) or HDMI as digital outputs.

As far as I understood there will only be two channels when using those instead of ADAT. But I did not try that and I am obviously far from being an expert in any way.

Just trying to setup my recording gear again after years and looking for some Hifi improvements as well.

Would be great if audiointerfaces for recording could also be used for Hifi.
 
Dolby Digital can be captured by a suitable (optical) interface and decoded in software by a host computer. Many Bluray players can output Dolby Digital through optical, but I am not sure if UCX II can capture such bitstreams.
