I always stop to look at the rocks.
How much energy, how much strength, each layer is thousands of years of struggle, of quiet and still clashes, heat, action….in an image that seems more like one of those abstract drawings, or color tests, is actually hidden the power of matter, of the universe and of our planet….

I hope to look this good when I'm 192.

"Jonathan (hatched c. 1832) is a Seychelles giant tortoise (Aldabrachelys gigantea hololissa), a subspecies of the Aldabra giant tortoise (Aldabrachelys gigantea). His approximate age is estimated to be 192 as of 2024, making him the oldest known living land animal. Jonathan resides on the island of Saint Helena, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic Ocean." Wikipedia.

Jonathan was born 11 years after the death of Napoleon in 1821. The two were therefore never able to meet on Saint Helena, where Napoleon spent his last years in exile. So they only missed each other by 11 years and that was a really long time ago. Crazy world.

this evening Opera House... beautiful, magnificent building, the power of architecture, the real one, of the masters who leave a mark on the world. the one that creates works of art to be admired, visited and experienced. The architecture that sets new standards of form. This place of life, that speaks to the senses, hosted a wonderful performance: the beauty of live music, of singing, of movements on stage... the opera..... the one that creates emotions.... the one that creates a memory. This place is a fairy tale...

the interior is a masterpiece of planes, surfaces, materials. Everything is skillfully combined. The interior is the architecture of forms, of design. It is the natural continuation of its exterior. There are no lights, or rather, everything is illuminated but the light sources are not visible, there are no chandeliers or even ceiling lamps, there are no posters, paintings, frescoes. But the spaces are filled by architecture. So the details of the materials, the shapes of the concrete, the strips of wood and the beams bent with their shape, in steel, fill the spaces with light and dark, full and empty. Beyond the glass is the sea and the landscape.

like in a cathedral with gothic features. I could have been like in fairy tales, in the belly of a whale, on the bridge next to Captain Kirk. Or maybe in a cave with walls worked over millennia... so many different shapes that remind of something organic, even if everything is "granite" it smells of nature.

the iconic external shape of the Opera. A masterpiece, a heritage, a place to admire, know and love…
