One thing I've noticed is when you click on "New posts" it seems to just go to the beginning of select threads. If you want the same "New posts" list like in WBF that actually shows all of the posts, you must click "recent posts" on the right after clicking on "new posts" . Could you make it default to that so it's the same as WBF?
New Posts should work that way. I had one other person complain about it (iridium) but I think the problem went away for him???

I also don't see a "recent posts" button in my view.

After clicking on New Posts look to the far right just about the Title bar.

Your view looks like it's proper when you go to "New posts". For me I must hit "recent posts" to get that view point. I miss half the posts if I just hit "New posts" here's a comparison:

OK, I think I see the issue. Recent Posts shows all the latest posts including the ones you have read/written yourself. New Posts shows only unread posts. This is a shorter list than all the recent posts. Is this what you are seeing Mike? If so, that is the intended functionality.

Yes, that is the normal operation I was used to using Simple Machines forum software.
In that software the Links are named differently but operate the same, you have
Show unread posts since last visit.
View the most recent posts on the forum.

It's just different than WBF. When you click on "new posts" you see all of the posts. Personally I like that better.

Amir, it's no big deal @ all. I'm simply reporting the fact...that is all. And when it happened yesterday, another site (audio site) was also down @ the same exact time.

Me personally, as I'm sure the majority too, I am not affected for one cent. Our business is knowledge, not profit...financial gain, or other malicious goal in life.
The sun keeps shining outside and the birds singing. The wildlife and nature have more rewarding values than many men...

Let the children play, let the adults satisfy their soul. Us (the people with good values), we are not affected by mind games. :)

Previously I saw New Posts and Recent on the same page after clicking the 'New Posts' buttoon, now, don't, if that is of any interest. So, you changed something.

What's the New Profile Posts supposed to be? Never figured that one out.

The message was one line only on the top left corner; an error occurred ... try later.
On the other site it was that Database error.

Sal, lol. :D
I received the same message repeatedly as I was in the middle of typing a response to a thread and I believe it occurred as the autosave feature attempted to contact the site with my typing. It had a close button which made it disappear for a minute or so until it attempted to autosave again
It was only after I attempted to post my response that I realized the whole site was now down.

Profile posts are public conversations you are having with one person. Hitting that button shows all of those posts. I also think they can be used by visitors to post.

Not sure how useful they are. I can disable them.

Profile Posts are Visitor Messages. They are in the public domain.
On some sites they (admin) can disable it for whoever they want to.
And you can also disable that feature yourself, normally. I said normally because not every site operate the same.

Conversations are PMs.

Indeed. We have nearly 2000 messages already which is remarkable given the fact that I still have not advertised for the forum. Thanks everyone for your early and great contributions!

Infamy. ;)

Btw, thanks Amir, seems like there was a latent need for such a more science oriented audio type forum.
Plenty of "I saw this, I heard that" forums already IMHO.

There was a small glitch earlier; I couldn't access the site...no message indication...just google chrome kept spinning.
Thanks Bob. I see the slowdown in instrumentation. But as long as there is no error, we are OK. This is a shared server so other people doing things on the same machine will slow it down. Once our traffic picks up, I will up it to a better configuration.
