Nice pictures of your audio setup

The second system, in the small music room. I'm playing with my magic cylinders, tubes traps, to find the best, to my ears, configuration. I read on the ASC site, how to position them....not at all obvious and easy, but some good results are coming!!

This is my IKEA PAX custom built "wardroffice" that I started a few years ago, back when all the Covid stuff kicked off and we were both forced to work full time from home, so I had to find a way to add a second office without losing the spare bedroom. Given that we now work from home regularly, just not full time anymore, I've kept it going and continued to make tweaks to get it just how I want it.

Bedroom mode (includes reflected box of cables mess and too many amps / DACs on the window ledge ):

Speaker Mode (for those lacking in imagination, it can also be called "getting dressed mode"):
WiiM Ultra, Musical Fidelity A1 Clone Amplifier, Project Debut Carbon Evo Turntable, NEOHIPO ET30 VU Meters, Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 Speakers.

Work Mode (or watching TV):
LG 43UQ80006LB TV & JBL Bar 2.0; Dell S3422DWG Monitor, Topping A50III/D50III stack, Wiim Mini (+other bits not listed)
Headphones (on pull out shelf below): Mainly use Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro, Hifiman Ananda, Hifiman Sundara Closed

That certainly going to sound “interesting” having the speakers inside the wardrobe, top marks for packing all your stuff in though

I love it! Well, I mean, I'd hate to have to live with it myself, but I love your photos of it and the unusual creative design. Look at that headphone drawer! And well done keeping the cabling tidy.

This is my first set up, and it's probably really cursed, but I like how it sounds quite a bit and it happens to look fairly cute! I have measurement data of it too so I could tune out some issues, so it manages to sound quite good for what it is.
  • Polk Audio ES10's
  • Kanto Audio sub8
  • Loxjie A30
  • Raspi for playing music (don't worry, it's over USB :p)
The setup is mostly like it is because of my limited amount of space, but I think I did a pretty damn good job for what I had to work with. I really like that I was able to put it all in a 2x2 Kallax shelf! The sub8 is probably not the best subwoofer for this set up, but it was one of the few I could jam into a Kallax shelf without it not fitting. I don't really need a ton of bass extension, I just mostly wanted to fill out the otherwise tinny sounding ES10's. With the 2.1 set up with those speakers, it sounds pretty damn killer. It was also important that the sub was sealed since it would be going on my shelf, so it would only be firing forward.

Currently, I'm missing a MiniDSP and a decent CD transport, but I can get those later.

I’ve been thinking about something similar to this but with the JL Audio E108.

Chasing good sound since the early seventies. Finally getting close. ASR certainly taught me to quit chasing some of my old bad beliefs thanks ASR
What is going on with that ceiling TV?

The speaker setup was a bit of an afterthought as I'm planning a setup to go downstairs after we renovate (probably another year or two before that happens). I thought the same as you, might sound very boomy or muddy, so I chose the small front ported speakers and they sit right at the edge of the wardrobe, and they sound surprisingly good.

The 80” Sony is attached to a motorized mount that will fold up to angled ceiling then drop down to your preferred viewing angle. I like up when rocking out. Down for all the games.

Well since this is ASR ... TV's should be mounted at eye level, just like tweeters. You don't want that "first row in a movie theatre" experience where you are craning your neck to watch TV. Many homes are poorly designed with no consideration as to where to mount your TV, especially older homes built before the 50's. For modern homes there should be no excuse. But I digress - lots of people don't have a good place to put the TV, so it's understandable that you have to resort to that. But I would rather have no TV than a poorly mounted TV since I wouldn't want to use it, and it makes the room look strange.

Perhaps he has a reclining sofa/chair ;)
