Nice pictures of your audio setup

Well, it's a nice picture, at any rate. ;)
Taken by my hifi friend & fellow traveler "Redboy" (also builder of the SE2A3 amplifier I've used for many years now) earlier this year.

That's quite a gear room! Do you listen to all of those boxes, or are they mostly there for the collector-value?

I am going to show this to my wife the next time she suggests my hobbies are taking up too much precious space in the house... ;)

Geez. I started counting how many pieces of equipment you have, and I gave up after 50.
Yeah -- don't.
I am terrified of the prospect, although my wife and our kids keep encouraging me to give them some guidance on the wheat vs. the chaff before... well... you know... ;)

PS Oh. The amplifier sittin' on the floor in the front of the room was just vistin' for a few weeks. Not mine.

My wife told me, I am going to let do whatever you like with this empty room, as far you do not make it ridiculous with all your Technology stuff, she saw the end result, shrug her shoulder and said "whatever" and walked out, haha

First time poster here.

Not a proper audiophile setup, but this is the most hi-fi setup that I have at home.
It is a 2.0 setup in the living room.

Very nice! What are the O-scopes and such used for?
Hi and thanks Doodski, well - if you have a reel to reel, or even cassette decks for that matter, azimuth of the heads needs a scope to get 100 % right. So I started analog with a decent enough scope, as well as a signal generator. About two years ago I stumbled across this retired Navy guy, who refurbishes Tektronix scopes and sells them rather cheap and bought one.
After feeding the analog signal into the digital scope and getting annoyed at the scope complaining that the signal is, ahem, unstable - I decided to pick up a digital signal generator as well. I try to have everything on wheels, as stuff comes and goes and the set-up changes. Or so my wive hopes...

O' very cool. I found an analogue storage scope worked the best for me for azimuth calibration. It's great to see a true enthusiast....LoL.

I'm seeing a lot of Yamaha gear there at the right side of the image. I'm a very loyal Yamaha follower. I sold the gear for several years and then serviced it and it was always a good experience with Yamaha and their gear.

It was all Yamaha in the chain, but then the phono stage of the C-4 died and I had to swap in a Onkyo P-3090 that I have. Before that it was Perreaux SA-33. I have 5 Yamaha M-4's and one in parts - in my opinion one of the best solid state amps of the era. They do have appreciated in price the last couple of years, but in the 2000's I picked those up for about 250.- a pop. Now if I could find a good M-2....

I have torture tested many Yamaha amps and they all passed with flying colors. The M85 and the MX1000 come to mind from my experience. Gotta love those illuminated square buttons....
