They look amazing but the price is €70,000 so out of my reach unfortunately.

They look identical to their Compact Reference CR1 speakers from 2010. I wonder what is different on these TX versions for them to charge twice more?

The CR1 used to be the stand mount speaker to compare to.

Coaxial tweeter/midrange. Let's hope they did better with that than some brands I could name...

i'm willing to bet you'd get 75-80% of the experience/quality for 1/35th of the price (i.e. 2,86% :)) by getting a nice pair of used Pioneer S-2EX :)

i was thinking of replacing my R7s with a pair of S-1EX, but i was too slow :/

You're probably right. I just think it's a pity that a company that made the Model 2404 is now selling these as Flagship

2404 was a professional speaker for recording studio though. Just look,at the rear. Apples to Oranges…

This particular combo has been used with success before,.IIRC.

Never had the opportunity to listen to higher end TAD speakers.
Are they really that good to justify price?
I mean would your jaw drop compared to say Neuman KH310 and subs?

I heard TAD Reference R1 at a friend's house a long time ago. They sounded excellent and looked gorgeous.

I heard the previous version at AXPONA, and while I would say they were decent, I felt like they could have been better. There is a resonance in the lower midrange that sounds of cupping or honking just a bit, and it's enough I would fix it. The bass definitely needed to extend deeper than it does as well. Elsewise, I think they sound very good. With those 2 caveats though, not worth the cost.

It goes all the way up to 100,000 hz….So you could say that this little baby goes Five times higher than most. Certainly worth the extra cheddar. ;)
I'm not sure if your dog will thank you, or not.
