Agree, in that price range they are very strong contenders, especially if you are in the US.Ascend Acoustics might be worth looking at, too.
Are the Kef R3 worth the extra money than the Kef Cocerto Meta? Sorry to ask again but I don’t think anyone saw itView attachment 449672

The flatter the better. Paradigm's are bumpier, with elevated trebble that you impress in the showroom; but soon become fatiguing at home.
Edit: if I were to spend my hard earned money - I'd save some Euros and look for the Kef Cocerto Meta.

Based on the data, the chief advantage of the R3 over the Concerto Meta is notably lower distortion at high SPLs. Otherwise they are quite similar, with the R3 having a small advantage in most metrics. So R3 is better, but I'd say you're not missing a whole lot by saving the money with the Concerto. Are the Kef R3 worth the extra money than the Kef Cocerto Meta? I agree with that 100 percent- I can still return my marantz ampAlso, that Marantz is fairly low in wattage compared to many AVRs, so I would say one of your main criteria is that you want an efficient speaker.
There is no such thing as "the best speaker" for everyone. Your equipment, your room, and your ears matter in making the right decision for you.
Highly reviewed, specifications, and Spinorama ratings are great starting points, but they shouldn't be the deciding factor, in my experience.
It’s also hard to find places to hear all the speakers . My wife’s parents have a house in San Francisco I suppose I can go around the stores in downtown listening to themI'm not recommending that you return the Marantz, it's perfectly fine for what it is. And it has plenty of power for lots of different speakers. You've found some you like, but it's best that you listen to a lot of speakers to get your own list of what you prefer before you make a decision.
The R3 will sound bass light unless you place it quite close to the wall because it has shelved down bass. It will also sound brighter as it has a flatter response. The Concerto Meta will sound fuller and less bright and might be better if you don't want close wall placement - in fact it could be boomy closer to the wall.If you can afford it - better is better.
The guy working the store who works for them told me they weren’t going for numbers . They did blind studies and asked what people liked the best and went towards that type of soundI had Paradigm Monitor 7’s for years, they were actually very good speakers. I’d imagine the Founders Series sound just as good. Since the Bagby’s came back to Paradigm, I think they have become more measurement-centric again. If you really like the Founders series 40’s…
Well, if that’s true…maybe it worked, lol. Kef also did the final tuning on the LS50 by ear.The guy working the store who works for them told me they weren’t going for numbers . They did blind studies and asked people liked the best and went towards that type of sound
I agree. I thought they sounded amazing but they also cost 2400. I’m willing to do that but im going through the process of looking what’s the best item to buyWell, if that’s true…maybe it worked, lol. Kef also did the final tuning on the LS50 by ear.
Asking for advice or feedback is not being told what to like.Hmmm, why are you letting people on an internet forum tell you what you like?
Read his original post. He was asking if they can be found cheaper elsewhere. Suddenly he was inundated with everyone else’s favourite.Asking for advice or feedback is not being told what to like.
Apparently you missed post #9 where they specifically asked for other recommendations.Read his original post. He was asking if they can be found cheaper elsewhere. Suddenly he was inundated with everyone else’s favourite.
