Hi,

I've just bought a new speaker set: 1x Polk xt30, 2x xt20 & 4x own3.
The room is 24m2

My current AVR is Denon s760h, but I feel like I lack power.

I am undecided between the x3800h and the x4800h, the latter more expensive, Will the x3800h be enough in terms of power?

I hope you can help me with your comments to decide, greetings!!

You have a desire to upgrade and you have a logical reason to do so. Most of us have that chronic disease as a permanent affliction. 3800 will be fine but will you always lust after the 4800? I would. Plus there is the whole pride of ownership thing. I believe the 4800 tested better on this website as well.

Thank you very much for your comment, yes it is too tempting, but will the x3800 be more than enough for those polk? The thing is that here where I live in Mexico, Amazon has almost 1,000 dlls more expensive for the x4800h than the x3800 :S

If you had the opportunity to choose between the Denon x4800h and the Yamaha A6A, which would you choose?

I currently have a similar setup. Polk xt60s, s35 and 3 sets of OWM3. I have the Marantz Cinema 50 which is similar to the 3800. Got the the Cinema 50 due to a promotion too good to pass otherwise I would have the 3800. I am very happy with the way it sounds.

What is making you think your current system lacks power?

If you buy the Denon 3800 or 4800, you will be spending more for the AVR than you did for your speakers. That goes against the usual advice to spend more on speakers.

I would go over the AVS forum and read through each respective owners forum to gage inevitable software bugs and how they were fixed. Denon usually has fewer.
