The MAG Theatron Falcon 46 is a high-performance, ultra-slim 3-way screen speaker designed for direct-view LED displays and behind-the-screen applications. Featuring state-of-the-art drivers, including a 3.3” Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter and TeXtreme® woofers, the Falcon 46 delivers exceptional clarity, dynamic range, and precision across the entire frequency spectrum.

Key Specifications

  • Configuration: 3-way, slim-profile main screen speaker
  • Drivers:
    • High Frequencies: 3.3” Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter
    • Midrange: Four 2” drivers
    • Bass: Four 6.5” woofers with TeXtreme® technology
  • Frequency Response: 45 Hz – 24 kHz
  • Max Continuous SPL: 117 dB
  • Power Handling: 300W AES

Optimized for LED Video Walls

Unlike traditional cinema speakers, the Falcon 46 is engineered for direct-view LED screens, ensuring accurate sound reproduction without interference. Its slim design allows for seamless integration in tight spaces while maintaining cinematic impact.

With high power handling, extended low-end response, and AMT-based high-frequency reproduction, the Falcon 46 is a top choice for high-end home theaters and professional installations demanding studio-grade precision and immersive sound.

For those burned by Alcons woofer and amplifier problems but still intrigued by their only coaxial design THE QRP-40 , this might be a solution. I asked for CEA 2034 data.

I asked ai:
A TeXtreme 6-inch woofer refers to a loudspeaker driver that uses TeXtreme material for its diaphragm. TeXtreme is an advanced spread-tow carbon fiber composite, known for its ultra-lightweight, high stiffness, and low distortion properties. It is widely used in high-performance applications, including aerospace, Formula 1, and premium audio drivers.

In a woofer application, a TeXtreme diaphragm offers:

  • Lower moving mass, improving transient response and efficiency.
  • High stiffness-to-weight ratio, reducing cone breakup and distortion.
  • Damping properties, minimizing unwanted resonances.

This makes TeXtreme woofers ideal for high-fidelity, low-distortion bass and midbass reproduction, commonly found in high-end audiophile speakers and studio monitors.

i would just chose a 2-3 way horn solution and keep the money in the bank, you can't beat horns in movies, low distortion and high spl

Where is the information on an "8 speaker shootout" that your title mentions?

The mixer of the recent Rush Live Concerts loved the recordings in atmos.
Every single Alcons speaker with Spinorama data at Pierre's, except the QR-24, was evaluated in one room in June 2023. I invited a neutral party to compare the measured data against subjective impressions, and the mixer for all of Rush’s concerts was present.

The QRP-40, a coaxial design, was the clear winner in every respect, as the Spinorama data had predicted. I spent three days in and out of the room, ensuring fresh listening perspectives. Highest correlation of performance and measurements. Alcons only good speaker. They lie when they tell you that all speakers are voiced alike, that is simply a complete marketing lie, for example the CRMSCsr HV "Insufficient" do not sound like a ribbon speaker at all, insufficient at the show and insufficient in my job.

Later, I took this prospect to this project of mine in Sarasota. Despite being the best system I had commissioned in 2019, the woofers deteriorated progressively every year and a half that I visited. By June 2023, they were completely sagging and out of control. Instead of taking responsibility, the company claimed what i described was impossible while quietly replacing the woofers with a new model as an "upgrade"—an out-of-warranty patch.

That is not their only issue. Their amplifiers are highly susceptible to lightning damage; I personally witnessed three units fried in a single incident at InfoComm 2015. One repair took five to six months, and amplifier upgrades completely altered the stored settings. It is best to avoid concert speaker manufacturers, as their moral standards are only a notch above circus carnie etiquette. Its like playing the three walnut shell with them, what a waste of some of the most important years of my life.

PD: For the record the CRMSC sr hv is my candidate worst speaker ever built and you will never ever see spinorama for that pos, because it is that bad, I think it is the trapezoidal shape, and miniscule drivers. Let them be known as THE INSUFFICIENTS!

No wonder I am so hot for a product that perfroms similarly with a similar form factor and novel mid range coaxial solution without those problematic completely unreliable amps.

I have installed a big Meyer Sound system, the second JBL Synthesis one, and the third Pro Audio Technology. The time-domain fatigue that creeps up after two weeks drives me up a wall. Sure, you won’t hear it in the beginning, but after two weeks, it becomes unbearable. I sell Ascendo within a 150-mile radius, and it is perhaps the least harsh due to its coaxial coherency, but I am afraid the monster may pounce, lying under the surface, waiting.

Their 28 sub is great and I have even come up with a quad stack force cancelling rig for it.
