Keep Denon X3700H or return and wait?

I recently purchased a Denon X3700H as a replacement for a 2012 Denon 1712.

Currently I have a 2.0 system, made up of Ascend Acoustics Sierra monitors (comparing LX and 2EX V2 and will keep one). I want to expand to 3.0 or 3.1/3.2, but most likely not until the end of 2023/early 2024. I also plan to add an LG OLED at the end of 2023.

I’m considering returning the X3700H and waiting until the end of 2023 or early 2024 and buying a replacement then. I can’t really take advantage of most of its features now and therefore can’t make sure everything is working properly during the return window.

What do you think? Keep or return and wait?

Return it. If it doesn’t even seem shiny and exciting now, you’ll wonder why you spent the money for sure

Keep and enjoy it today.

Assuming you’ll return to your 1712 otherwise, your X3700H should be a big step up because of this. With your current two speakers you can greatly benefit from it already.
