Hi guys.
1) Is it worth overpaying x2 for kali in-unf? Does in-unf play much lower frequencies? They have the same woofer drivers.
2) I have desk space, but the monitor is 42" and there is a wall behind it. The bass unit will stand close to the wall, behind the monitor and will be completely covered by the monitor. is that a problem?
3) Will I be able to reach 35Hz at 80-85db (with -5 or -10db preamp) on LP-unf after dsp corrections? or 30hz on in-unf?
4) There are crazy modes in my room. 120hz +10db, 180hz +10db
5) iloud mtm vs LP-unf or In-unf? Who will more bassy?
I mostly (70%) listen to uk bass music and I don't like subwoofers. Please share your opinion.

I can't remember where I saw it (Erin's or JoenTell probably) but the IN-UNF is subpar, and the LP-UNF is best in class for nearfield small monitors. Save the $300 and use it towards an actual subwoofer would be my thought.

I have used and tested both. The IN has much better midrange and imaging. I really like the midrange on the IN series. That is the big difference for me especially on vocals. I think it will have better bass well. However, it took me a good amount of time to set it up properly and get the balance correct between bass, mids and highs. I played a lot with positioning, the dips switches and EQ while measuring.

The LP is easier to set up and more balanced out of the box. For its price it is unmatched.

If you have the time, measurement and EQ capability I would go with IN. Otherwise save the money and get the LP.

Got it. Well, I decided to buy LP-unf, they was for $250 on sale at my place. I think it bang for buck. With discrete 2x4 dsp adau1701 I think it will be possible to tune them for 35hz on low-medium volumes. Thanks.

do not buy kali - buy anything else and U will not regret

Given your repeated comments regarding the Kali brand I’ve come to the conclusion that Kali must have stole your school lunch money and filled your locker with expanding foam.

Lp-unf is great. LF driver starts at 37hz. I correct them with eq and dsp for a stable 40 Hz (same db level as other freq) (-7db preamp). The 50Hz cutoff is needed for high (max) volumes, and the subwoofer of course. I was thinking about mtm's, but, is mtm really go down to 30hz? Actually not. Same 40hz, but with squarewave limiter.
With stable 40hz setup, lp-unf have huge port noise at high (close to max) volumes, no port noise without pushing. I usually listen at a low to medium volume level. Good for place where you can't go really loud because of neighbors.
