I seek a Class A amp or amps capable of >=75 WPC, can this community recommend something?

For the record and FWIW, I use single-ended Class A power amplification... but not at high output power. I prefer to let the loudspeakers do the work.

The Accuphase A-75 looks about right for the OP's 'user spec' -- won't hit his/her/their price range, though.

Krell KSA100 will give a bit more than 100 watts into 8 ohm and are reasonably affordable on the used market. Two grand or so.

Fan cooled though. They're not noisy but you can hear a faint 'woosh' during quiet passages and silence. At least you can with the one I have.
True, but they use a sliding bias on PS voltage for the output stage. 4 steps of it switched as the signal level varies. Don't know that it causes any issue.

Kinergetics KBA-75 is a great class A amp. With 75W@8R, 150W@4R and 300W@2R. It seems much more powerful than the 75W rating suggests. I owned the black rack mount version. The pic is of the non-rack mount Platinum version in a very kOOL platinum green color. 1KVA transformer and lotsa capacitance in the power supply. It is a underwater communications company that decided to make hi-fi gear too. Very nice amp and they do come up used from time to time.

This is another Class A amp that has caught my eye over the years. 150 watts per side , so they say. The Usher 1.5

I thought that came in with the 'S' series? I was talking about the KSA100 original and mark 2, not the KSA100S.

Although KSA100S might also be an option, they tend to be priced over the $2K budget.

My little Krells have stepped bias, not sliding.

Never noticed any audible artifacts.

Power consumption at the wall steps up with something like 100W (idle and small signal) then 150 250 400 600 W - not exact figures, just the essence of what I remember it draws, for 30 seconds or so, once the input level "demands" a higher output level, before it backs off to a lower level, if the input doesn't demand the higher range again.

So, for each (monoblock) 30W standby, 100W idle and moderate listening, and a few steps (five? seven?) to 1700W claimed max draw for 350/700/1400W claimed output at 8/4/2 ohms..
