Hi guys, I'm new here, I follow your tests and comments on this site at regular intervals. I am an old hi-fi friend and develop speakers for friends, hi-fi stores and of course for myself. I have an eventful hi-fi history which I will be happy to share with you if anyone is interested. For several years, when the industry was still doing well, I photographed for various HiFi magazines in Germany. I gained a lot of knowledge from the editors and the "industry". So I'm neither a beginner nor a super professional, as I earn my money with other things, but I've been very deeply involved in the subject for 40 years now. Briefly about my project! I need a small amplifier board for a small active project and only have 8x10cm space. Power does not have to be high, 30-50W would be more than sufficient. I will outsource the power supply and I still have to decide on the DSP. I would be very grateful for any hints and tips.

Not as high performance as the Neurochrome Modulus-86, but cheaper.

That's right, I still have a whole heap of LM. But I'd like something more efficient. I have to plan for huge heat sinks. I don't have the space. I'd prefer a digital amplifier with decent data. The UcD is also only one channel, so it's too big for me. Thanks for the suggestions. I'm simply thinking about taking a toping apart, for example. There are some with good specifications.

You can find tons of small class D boards with TPA3116/ TPA3251/TPA3255 chips online at places like eBay and AliExpress.

For example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/166303758555

Most of them come without measurements though, so implementation quality is dubious.

3e Audio sells a high quality Stereo board at 12x8.5cm:

If it were me I would lean this way (or a Fosi audio or similar.) An off-the-shelf unit will do what you're looking to do in the space and power requirements you have, assuming you give it some cooling access. DIY'ing speakers let you get some personality in, but DIY'ing chip amps isn't good for much but soldering practice, and the only way to save money is the AliExpress route and playing roulette with quality.

(Also you'll trigger people saying 'digital amplifier')
