I keep going back and forth between these and the blue zeros, when I think I hear something I try again and it disappears, if one seems to me to sound better, the next song does the opposite.
And I have never, NEVER heard differences in the spatial sound, as with any other IEM the music is only inside my head.
I was hoping that the planar technology would give me that feeling of openness that I feel with my Sundaras but absolutely not. I wish I liked them, otherwise I wouldn't have spent this amount, they just aren't any better to my ears than other cheap iems I own.
NB I also tried with Rammstein (feuer Frei)
the perception of the sound stage is psychoacoustics - this seems to be very subjective and individual.
I would just test a different source for fun - the small cx31993 dongles work very well with the planar IEMs

Here just to say that I don't think they have anything magical compared to the zero blues or the Salnotes 7 II, beautiful and well made but no audible difference for me compared to much cheaper headphones, no magical soundstage nor the spatial properties of my Sundara. None of this is now worth 174 euros

Sad to hear that. I always feel bad when I strongly recommend something that doesn't work for someone else.

They work wonderfully for me and the soundstage is extraordinary compared to anything else I tried.

And I have the allegedly semi-open FiiOs FH9, which cost 6 times what the MP145 cost and have 12 more drivers in total, but I don't perceive the same soundstage.

Would you be open to try some tracks that sound to my ears really compressed and muddy in the Zero:2s and incredible on the MP145?

I have found an offer of 90$ for MP145, and I do not think I am an iem guy I guess because I find out that the feeling of iem in my ears maybe is not for me.

Over Ears I always find more enjoyable. My only iem is an Tnchjim Zero.

I am thinking of buying a more "advanced" maybe iem.

Do you think is it worth buying at this price or check for something more budget or let it go and go for straight for Sundara?

Thanks

Of course, I'm here and I have nothing to lose

the Sundara needs power and EQ, Amir's PEQ is good and gives the Sundara excellent sub bass and sparkle, a cost effective way to try Planar IEM is the Artti t10:

Truthear Red, it's tuned not be an acquired taste but instead a perfect allrounder. Get it an be done so you can continue your headphone journey.

I use Apple Music, but I don't know what you use, so I'm going to share them through YouTube.

I'll look them up on Amazon Music HD and let you know my genuine impressions.
I paid for them out of pocket, as well as all the IEMs I own, I have no interest in saying that I like something more (or less) if I don't think so

These are some of the many songs I use to test new IEMs and headphones.

In the meantime I can tell you that with my klipsch I definitely like these songs (at least the first one so far), nice musical tastes

I married my Truthear Red with BT EarHooks (KZ AZ20), sounds quite usable, I glued the QDC-0.78mm adapter in, so unfortunately i cant longer test them with a cable,
I have not tested them much with a cable , in combination with BT Earhooks they sound much worse compared to the MP145

David Torn huh?

Saw him in San Francisco (Great American Music Hall) back in the 80s with the "Cloud about Mercury" tour -- with Bill Bruford, Mick Karn (subbing for Tony Levin), and Chris Botti (taking the place of Mark Isham) - awesome guitarist -- but for some an aquired musical taste...

A lot of great musicians there. Half King Crimson.

Acquiring the Taste is another great album, by the way. The Steven Wilson remixes are more audiophile than the original mixes, though. (Apparently not all songs from AtT have been remixed due to the original tapes being lost).

Can MP145 compared with the Zero Red??
Zero Red used 2 drivers, (10mm+7.8mm dynamic driver) MP145 use a 14.5mm planar magnetic driver - two completely different systems - you can look at the frequency response, but in practice they sound totally different

Can MP145 compared with the Zero Red??
For tonal balance it's the best under $100. For details, spatial retrieval, staging width many IEMs will do better, at the expense of tonal balance. Consider it as a baseline in your collection, something that helps you evaluate the value of future purchases. Something you can play loud without annoying harshness of boominess, that can convey the power of drums.

So most of user that have both mp145 and many Zero's versions, you suggest to give it a try right?

If you get the mp145 for 90 bucks, that's a very good deal, I have the zero2 and the zero reds and don't use them anymore - actually just for comparison
but you see the feelings and opinions differ, I can lose myself in music with the mp145 and just enjoy it

I think gonna give them try hope there will be no issues about that different tuning to these iem as I read, and I do not see here any user to had that issue
