Hi all, my first time posting here and hoping to get some input from this community for a music playback setup that I am hoping to realize.
I have a room in my basement where I'm setting up collections of older audio formats that I like to play. The area I've targeted is an unused fireplace with some odd dimensions. My intention for this setup is to use it for 8-track cart playback, cassette playback, a sound burger for vinyl setup (primarily landed on the burger due to the depth limitations), and other misc audio interests like microcassette. I probably will not be venturing into CD or other digital sources since I have other setups for that, so I may not need a DAC (though it couldn't hurt if it had one I guess). I haven't filled the shelves up with everything yet since I've just installed the shelf today.
I had to find a shelving unit with just under 12" overall depth since it is the maximum depth in that middle section of the fireplace platform. The shelves on the shelving unit itself measure 10" depth. There is an additional inch of depth from the back edge of the shelves to the brick wall.
On the left and right of the shelving the area on the brick platform measures 13" wide by 12.75" depth. That is where I am hoping to put some floor standing passive speakers.
I believe what I am hoping to get some suggestions here from the community would be:
On a side note I was initially thinking of using a OSD Pre-1 preamp with powered KRK Rokit 8's and a KRK 10S sub (since I already have these) but they just didn't "look right" with this setup and area. I also have a pair of Genelec 1037B's at the far end of the room that I use for other monitoring (home recording studio in the room here too) and thought about running a cables from the OSD Pre-1 to those, but due to the other cabling and the usage of those speakers it seemed to be more hassle than I wanted to deal with for switching etc.
I would prefer suggestions to be in the fairly budget range, if at all possible. I was looking into some of the Fosi components and wondered which might fit this idea but wasn't sure. I previously hoped to use something like the NAD integrated options or Denon, Yamaha A-S series integrated amps - but unfortunately all of them have depth of 12" or over and won't fit on my shelves. Hence where I was hoping to get some suggestions on smaller separates, or other ideas that I might be missing.
Appreciate any input and thanks!

- Suggestions for a preamp / amp to fit in that 10-11" depth area on the shelving unit?
- Suggestions for floor standing speakers that would be a good fit for the 12" width and 12.75" depth area, and would work well with any preamp / amp suggestion?
- Physical EQ control pots if possible for bass/treble. I would still consider options with an on-screen menu and pushbutton type setup for EQ'ing if that is the only option
- Good low end bass response from the floor speakers (I understand I'm limited to the frequency response of my sources to some degree, such as my Pioneer HR-100 8-track, though it does show specs of 30-15,000 hz)
- Schiit Mani 2 phono preamp (just mentioning since I could use this if a preamp or amp suggestion doesn't include one)
- RCA cable selector switch (4 inputs to one output switcher type thing) in case the pre doesn't include many aux inputs
