Oh yeah, they obsoleted all the AVRs and processors too! This makes it a tough time to buy any expensive home theater product give the guaranteed obsolescence.

Of course, if you want to keep up with the latest up-to-the-minute video/audio processor chips. The ones existing right now are mainly obsolete; only few will be able to get an HDMI version 2.1 upgrade, from our receivers, surround sound processors, TVs, BR players. You need chips with a lot of processing power, and most simply don't have the guts.
