How 'bout some hard dance / "UK Hard House", courtesy of the queen of it, Miss Tidy Girl, Lisa Lashes

Good story 'bout her, met her once in the early/mid '00s when she headlined a club night. I brought along a couple record sleeves (left the sacred vinyl at home) and approached her along with a couple other die-hards with random merch / memorabilia to sign, and handed her the two sleeves. "Whose are these?", as she looks up with a grin (the only record sleeves presented to her), "Mine, do you mind doing both?" (at the time, it wasn't unusual for "stars" offering autographs to limit one per person, hence my question). She laughed and answered (in a coy British accent, and I paraphrase) "Do them both, do them both, so much attention from just one woman!" (and signed both sleeves).

That was pretty fun! I may check out more of her work. Cute story.

The sample in it from the Apollo missions I remember was used in this video game track, a few years earlier (2:30):

It must have been popular.

Mauro Picotto, there's a name I haven't heard in a while. Komodo, Iguana, Lizard, and others are all good, too.

How 'bout a less common tune from a big name... Still one of my favourites...

Or... the anthem from Sensation White, 2004:

Do you believe in a god that that satisfies,
Do you believe in a god that opens eyes,
Do you believe in a god that tells you lies,
Or do you believe in me?

Do you believe in a god that brings you down,
Do you believe in a god that wears a crown,
Do you believe in a god that makes you bow,
Or do you believe in me?

=D

I guess your state of mind is not yours to design,
All you need is time to find your space in false light.

Edit: Weird to listen to "False Light" one on YouTube, I'm not sure I've ever played it at "normal" speed.

( This showed up after an awesome 4 hour mix by Elvin T. )

Introducing a new artist to the label, loket debuts on Hot Concept with ‘Diet Cult’, three singular and imaginative original tracks, remixed by Jay Duncan. The eagerly awaited follow-up to loket’s beloved ‘Deep Mind Music’ mix and saxophonic edits, ‘Diet Cult’ represents loket’s first foray into original production, exploring live, modulated saxophone production with the continuum of ambient, trance and hardcore influences.

Opening the EP, the dramatic brass of ‘Althüttendorf’ builds and builds towards a break that seems to accelerate with pure lightspeed, a wide-eyed release that dispenses loket’s instrumental touches into an altered universe; psychedelic, dramatic and boldly experimental.

“When a star collapses, it becomes a black hole”, intones Steph Lee on ‘Left Hand’. Lee’s inquisitive narration leads us through a spectral corridor of shimmering electronics, closely intertwined with loket’s lush instrumentation to otherworldly effect. This sublime weightlessness is itself swallowed up into the more frenetic ‘Lila Gazelle’, krautrock-inspired rhythms this time providing the undulating force behind their heavenly jams.

Jay Duncan provides two wildly divergent and equally compelling mixes of ‘Left Hand’. The ‘infinity’ mix rockets the tempo while maintaining the dynamic pleasure of loket’s musical universe, rolling out deeply satisfying bass pressure over Lee’s recital. In juxtaposition, Duncan’s beautifully headsy ‘Spirit of Sabre’ mix tunnels slowly into the cosmos, progressing into a nocturnal melodic trip that will have true believers leaning in further still.

Jeff Mills, 3 decks... simply superb, mixing is flawless. More an artwork that a set;

Brilliant, but not quite flawless - I'm fairly sure he lost it for a second around 3:46-3:48. I could swear that I heard an ever so slight "gallop" as he tweaked the pitch control. Both faders are up on the mixer at the time... ;)

But I'm being overly picky, I'd never notice that live, only in my headphones while searching for mistakes. Fantastic either way! :)
