I understand that he is producing an animation from spaced still-shots rather than the normal dynamic motion. Nice clean shots.

I am familiar with LaserDisc but the SelectaVision one I missed, somehow. Neat.

Correct.

He takes 60 frames and stitches them together, each separated by 50 microns of movement between each.

Quite enjoyed that, thanks! He says "cheap stylus and cartridge" but those Signet cartridges are quite sought-after.

BTW, this guy also makes DIY electron microscopes:

Makes all the fiddling people do here seem light weight...

I wonder whether it can detect those undetected unknowable 'things' that some 'philes can hear? ;)

A thrift copy of "Switched On Bach" was desecrated for his sins. Oh, the injustice! It should have been Barry Manilow or Ferrante and Teichner or Rod McKuen!

Honestly, this video belongs in the 'long run for short slide' file.

It's just a re-badged Audio Technica- nothing special at all.

Yes, it's an Audio Technica but many on the vinyl forums consider the Signet line superior to the AT line (rightly or wrongly). Whether technically superior or not it still has a mystique that makes it desirable, much like vinyl replay in general.

Amazing. LOL at:

...so that I could push the needle into the record without, you know, destroying the record...
(...after I attacked it with my bandsaw.)
