DACs with ir direct input select?

Hi all,

I’m surprised I can’t find any dedicated DACs with direct input select via ir remote control. Instead, they all come with a toggle that cycles through all inputs. Only products that I’ve found that do have this direct input select feature are multifunction DACs miniDSP Flex and SHD. Although these are great products, I prefer not to pay for features I don’t need in this specific setup.

I simply want to be able to switch between USB (music) and toslink (TV) with one touch of a button, and integrate the ir commands in my home automation system.

Do you know of any dedicated DAC with direct ir input select, below €400 / $400?

Or am I the only one who cares about this functionality?

My Marantz DAC does, and I wouldn't be surprised if their others, and Denon, do too.

Searching the JP1 forum might help identify some.

I think you are more likely to find this functionality on a product described as a 'digital pre-amp', rather than a DAC. I think you are more likely to find this functionality on a product described as a 'digital pre-amp', rather than a DAC. Thank you for your reply. I had already seen that thread - from which I conclude Topping products don’t support direct input select. I will search for digital pre-amps instead, maybe it will lead to something.

Also FWIW, I managed to automate PEQ selection in PEACE/EqualizerAPO on Windows and tie it to output selection on my Topping EX5 DAC/HP Amp remote...
