A favorite A side/B side punch LP, for me...

DG's release of Haydn 88 on side A and 89 on side B.

Dirt cheap, too.

A magnificent recording made in Senar, in Sergei Rachmaninoff's villa, in Switzerland.
And played on the sumptuous Steinway D concert piano received as a gift from the composer. It has a slightly patinated sound, quite bewitching beauty and it is played by an admirable young Lithuanian-Russian pianist, from a great lineage of musicians: his grandmother, Vera Gornostaieva was one of the great teachers from the Tchaikovski Conservatory in Moscow in addition to being a great concert pianist. The sound recording is done a little too closely, but it is nevertheless very well-voiced and faithful to this instrument and this music played in an incredibly beautiful way.

Just one of the YouTube clips of this album, the sound quality is far from optimal, though:

Hey guys, can someone please remind me name of the composition with this motif:

This is probably a piano concerto. From romantic era. I have checked my recent playlists, so this isn't Rach or Scriabin. Maybe that's Chopin?

Chopin ? No. Romantic : No.

Schubert to the power of four :D

The level of inventiveness on display in these pieces far exceeds that of pretty much all of Buxtehude's contemporaries, IMO.
