Buchardt and Purifi A500 Signature Edition

@VintageFlanker do you have possibility to check SE speakers if there is any difference in sound while playing on cable and on WISA?
Unfortunately, I cannot anymore: I don't have a working Hub on hands. In fact, I have one, but it is bricked since a year or so (I've been refunded by Buchardt for this, BTW).
Back in the days, I tried regular A500s wired and wireless many times and heard no difference whatsoever while running the same MTs.
On my side the speakers using WISA are unusable and I'm trying to figure out if this is fault of the speakers or Primare SC15.
As I suggested, I'm pretty sure your WISA configuration was either wrong (both channels mixed) or faulty (maybe something with your Primare).

i wonder if Piega has issues, too, since they seem to be using the same oem for their hubs, or is it just that their clientele keeps quiet about it

Is also TOTALLY NOT to be expected, of course (which of course I don't need to tell you at all).
I do use and prefer the wireless mode, because I like to play with the EQ every now and then.
Sometimes I have to re-pair (10s job) via the app, because of a little crackling sound in the right channel,
but besides that everything works very fine.

Trying Neutral Flat MT for the last few hours... OMG, this sucks ! o_O

Sub bass and energy are literally gone. Lack of density with midbass and low mids. Somewhat forward (and perceived as bigger) soundstage. But it just sounds thin, and very weird overall.

Returned to Theoretical Flat Stock and everything was back to normal. Very balanced, very deep bass with a lot of body. Cohesive soundstage and imaging, good abilities with high SPLs, and so on.

Seriously, six months of wait for this. So disappointing. Good news here is that A500 SE hopefully sounds stellar out of the box, and still does today. So maybe, seeking for any improvement was like chasing ghosts, somehow...

Hi, How do you like the cardioid setting? Are you speakers positioned close to the rear wall?

Lol when the stock setting is basically anechoic flat I don’t bother to try out Master tunings if it’s my speaker. Rew + own eq to fix room modes at most.

And for this is literally disappointing as I stop reading the description at “this is tuned by ears”…

Might still download and see if can extract the curve to see how their ears go for “neutral”, I bet it’s similar to “this is the in room flat eq for my room, set by my ears” type..

Still very curious about their Cardioid mastertunings. Both how they accomplished it in DSP with such a small distance between the front and rear facing woofer, and how it sounds. Still enjoying them @VintageFlanker?

if not playing more then 80-85db, is there much difference between the two?
There is. Master Tuning acts differently. The crossover point between woofers and tweeter is different, so is the directivity pattern. They extend a touch lower in my room, even at 80-85dB.

Here's the FR plot for the A500 SE with Theoratical Flat Mastertuning. I find it quite impressive.
